Like I've said before, this is the first season I've gotten to play golf reguarly, although I played today for the first time in two weeks because of outside factors.

But on the 8th hole, it's a 176 yd par 3 with a lake in front. I'm getting mentally excited, as a Hole in One to me, is the pinnacle. You could be the best golfer in the world, and never hit a hole in one. So to me, that's the highest stage.

I've been hitting my 5i into a 4 yard wide sandbunker 180 yards out all year on the driving range 5 or 6 times in a row. And with me being able to tee up the ball, I know I had a real shot to get this thing close, as it was like hitting off of the mat.

But, I got excited, was thinking about a joke my dad had made 2 seconds before that actually brought us to tears, and then the guys from behind us rolled up on my backswing. Not making excuses, it was my fault I swung the club. In 2 nanoseconds my thoughtline was ,"Ok back down don't swing...ahh screw it." Stupid move on MY part not to get more prepared.

I hit it short of the damn pond....bare even got the clubhead on it, lifted my head I did all the classics. Maybe 90 yards, just a G-Awful swing. I'm smiling but ticked. I pull my sandwedge, take an easy swing, go through the motions and put this ball at the most, 8 feet from the hole. I planted it exactly where I wanted to in correlation to the hole.

There it was - quite possibly my worst shot of the year followed by my best. Over the pond by 5 feet, 8 ffeet to the pin, uphill straight putt to save par.

Something like that ever happen to anyone?

I'd say it wasnt my best, but pretty darn close. Happened a couple days ago: 2nd hole, 338 Yards. Hit a huge baloon drive into trees on the left. Found my ball, and could hit a low punch with a wedge to get it on easily, Shanked my chip and left myself about 25 yards from the hole. Used the same wedge and chipped in for birdie.

today i hit driver on a par 420 yard par 4. i wasn't thinking and i tried to kill it, and i heeled it into a rock and the ball ended up about 150 yards and in really long, knee high grass. i hacked out of there into a bunker with a lot of lip left and 170 yards to the green.

i tried to fade a 4 iron out and it ended up 3 feet from the hole

The object of the game is getting the ball into the hole and that is what you did. Good job.

I had a worst shot/best shot in the same shot the other day.

165 yard par 3 a little down hill. I hit my 7 iron and TOTALLY pull it left. It's also way short as I didnt even come close to getting good impact on it... It's flying about 20 yards right and probably 20 yards short of the green and already my buddies are laughing a little, I utter my pattented "Ahh Sh*t!!!" when suddenly the ball hits the bank of a hill, and makes a 45 degree turn to the right and rolls up on the green about 6 feet away from the hole.

They were all calling me a cheater, but I kept telling them I saw the backboard and aimed it there like that one par 4 in the US open. I actually MISSED birdie though, but finished up with par... Hey it doesnt say HOW you got it there, it just shows how many strokes it took :D

Ok so this definitely wasnt my absolute worst or best shot, but 2 pretty good extremes in one :D

haha yea thats how golf works. The other day i was playing a golf match and on the first tee i got really nervous with everyone watching. The hole is a short par 4. So I hit a 4 iron extremely fat about 140 yards and then went on to chunk a 5 iron. So now im hitting 3 in front of the creek while my opponent is 6 ft from the pin for birdie. Again i crack and hit my chip a little thin and have at least a 20 footer for par. I look at the putt briefly and i felt like i had the line. I put my head down and stroked it right into the back of the cup. The look on my opponent's face was classic haha. She went on to miss the birdie putt and tap in for her par. What a sweet tie it was.

I had something similar. I work at the high school and decided one day after school to go play nine. Well the golf team was there and so I had to play through some of them. It was on a par 3 189 yds and I topped my tee shot and sent it screaming off in to the right hand rough. So not only did I have a bunch of high schoolers sitting there watching me. They had already hit and insisted that we all just finish out the hole. So I hit my next shot probably 15 feet from the pin and drain the putt. As the putt was dropping into the cup one of them yelled out, "that was for par". So needless to say, they were paying attention to how I play.

I was in a KJGA tournament at my home course a few weeks ago, and I was playing flat-out terrible. I didn't know what was going on. I shot a 91, which is inexcusable. Anyway, I was coming off back-to-back 8's (Quad-Triple). I was teeing off on the 8th tee, which is a 180-yd Par 3. Pretty straight, flat hole. So I pull a 6-iron, and being so embarrassed after my 2-hole collapse, I couldn't really focus. I swing, and I hit this terrible worm-burner (went about 5 feet in the air), but fortunately, it was right on line with the pin and with the right distance. It left me with an uphill 20-footer for birdie, which I sank. I successfully went 8-8-2 in a 3-hole stretch: I don't know how that's possible! :P
