Dudes, (Dudettes?)

I am FAT. I am 6' and 300lbs. Now don't get me wrong I LOOK GOOD.

HOWEVER I am still FAT. Anybody want to start some kind of contest for weight loss to the end of the year? Being not fat is good for golf, and I figured we could motivate each other. . .

Any other FATTIES out there wanna challenge?

Dudes, (Dudettes?)

Went to the doc begining of April and was 250!!! Biggest I have ever been, in high school(17 years ago) i was around 190 and looked skinny(ish), I can keep more weight on due to broad shoulders and a stocky build. I am 6' as well and have lost 30 lbs so far, goal was 200 lbs, but would like to be around 180 lbs so we'll see. So I am in on this challenge, no shirtless photos please!!!

keep it up! even if heavy folks think they are healthy, all the extra weight takes its toll on the joints

You know what they say?

"Thin is in....but Fat is where it's at!"

lol

Actually, that's just what my large buddy says.... I used to be rather large for my frame. 5'9" & 215 lbs.....but that was almost 10 yrs ago. I'd quit smoking and started working out and watching what I ate. Ended up dropping about 65 lbs within 6 months or so and from then up until about 3 months ago I had stayed between 150 & 160. I am now at about 165 and need to stop the uphill climb. I definitely don't want to get back to where I was (and don't plan on it).... Of course, being that I am no longer extremely overweight, I don't think I could win a contest. Best of luck to ya though!

That's the main reason for me to loose weight, had back problems and the extra weight wasn't helping me get better. That and being single again

I can beat that easily. 6'0, 140 lbs. I'm 25 and pretty much done growing. I can eat most of you under the table as well.

G Funk,

Take it from someone who once lost 80 pounds. Eliminate everything white from your diet: pasta, rice and bread. Replace them with wheats. Also, eat more meals throughout the day. By doing so, you're never hungry and you avoid snacking. Drink one ounce of water for every two pounds. At 300 pounds, you should be drinking 150 ounces, per day.

Also, be reasonable on a diet. Don't deny yourself. Allow yourself one day every ten days where you can eat pizza, a bacon double cheeseburger, etc.

You'll see that the healthier you eat the faster you'll drop the weight. Yes, exercise is important but without a good nutritional plan, you won't give yourself the opportunity to see optimal results.

Good luck!

^ Great advice, not only for weight loss, but just for general health or nutrition. I'm a marathoner (as well as a golfer), and those guidelines are almost exactly what I do during training.

I am about 10 pounds overweight. My body mass index states for my height I should be 10 pound lighter. my stomach would be flatter if I lost the 10 extra weight also.

good luck to everyone.

I lost about 50 lbs three years ago. Once you get started and committed, I didn't find it that difficult.

I'm fat

242 - 222 in 6 weeks

eat salad twice a day, gym 4-5 days a week, 20mins of cardio a day, rigorous weight training

I have broad shoulders and hold my weight well, max in highschool was a solid 200 with a 34 waist

just have to get back on the wagon, you'll be miserable for a while but you get used to it

    • @Hardspoon and I will have to discuss it over for the next one. 😛    Just to give a short review of the courses.  NorthStar is a pretty good course. The condition is good. There was a couple of meh holes (#16 and #18 specifically). Nothing really stood out as amazing. Yea, probably like a 6/10.  Eaglesticks, I think from tee to green is really interesting. Some of the greens, more so pin positions were a bit crazy. Like, if you slightly missed you would have a putt that could not stop with in 15-Ft of the hole. Maybe a 5.5/10 something around there.  The Virtues, still good as ever. In really good condition. Being it is in a similar part of the state as Eaglesticks, it shares the same hilly terrain. Eaglesticks is more compact, so it might have more extreme slopes. While the Virtues is on a larger property and was more selective in where the holes were built. The green complexes at The Virtues seemed fairer than Eaglesticks. Still, I think a very good public course that can challenge you to hit a good tee shot. The approach shots are interesting. I still think I would recommend people make the trip to play if they haven't done so. Probably a 7/10.
