Got in touch with a teammate of mine in high school .. gosh, that's 15 years ago..

he lives now about 20 minutes from me and his home course is the same as mine .. we've stayed in touch over the years but havn't had a chance to play.

Gonna tee it up with him tonight! He's now a golf coach for the local high school, is a PGA professional, does teaching, and runs a bunch of junior golf programs around the area.

A few days ago I contacted one of my college teammates.. just like old times .. gonna get me in touch with the other members of the college team .. High school I played for Chelsea High school in Michigan (1990 - '93) .. college was Grand Valley State University (out by Grand Rapids) 1993 - 1998.

gonna be fun!

Not golf-oriented, but I got a story.

My dad went to our local gym to workout and found a MIDDLE school friend from ILLINOIS (now in JAX) there. Now they're friends again.

What would've been funny is he started a local men's city tournament at our home course a few years ago that I knew nothing about, only 20 - 30 players so far but I was planning on playing in it next year .... then I find out he runs it!

would've been cool to sign up .. go there, and find out he's running this thing.

Since you know the guy running it that means you get to knock a couple strokes off your score right?

      Day 8: Hit a bucket at the range with my driver and 7i.  Had an hour long lesson focusing on just my 7i.  My son and husband then talked me into playing 9 holes since the course was pretty empty.  Hubby and I played best ball against our son and we beat him 40 to 44.  I actually had several best balls.  Golf has been something my boys have been doing together the past year.  A month ago, my husband was in an accident and fractured his skull, multiple brain bleeds, lost his hearing, sense of smell, etc. but he’s recovering quickly.  He’s currently staying at an inpatient neuro rehab facility in the Bay Area but he gets to come home on the weekends.  I thought if I took over my husband’s spot at their practice and hit balls with my son at the range, and walked the course at his weekly games we’d be keeping him on a semi decent regular schedule.   Sure, I had a lot of do overs today and hubby started to wear out around hole 7, but it was nice to spend the time together.
