For me it has to be my short putts. I started practicing putts exclusively inside 3 feet, I'll hit a few other "real world" putts but spend most of my practice time on the short ones. I definitely attribute my improved confidence / conversion rate to many hours on the putting green.

my accuracy overall has gotten MUCH better...and SHOT selection... instead of trying stupid sh** like a flop out of deep rough to be a hero and carry a 20 foot bunker onto a protected green... i'll elect to play something different if i can afford to.
instead of pulling a driver out for every par 4 and 5, i've been going to the 3 wood or 2 hybrid a lot....

Shot selection / course management would have been my answer 2 years ago.

Everything probably equally. I'm hitting more fairways and greens than ever, combined with a solid short game and improved putting stroke.

Iron play.

Granted, before this summer I never got out nearly as much as I have this year, my iron play has improved a TON this summer. I'm no longer slicing my irons often and I never top them and roll them down the fairway anymore.

even though it's probably still the weakest part of my game my short game and putting have improved considerably over the last 6 months. Now I don't have to be striking the ball well to be socring well, which NEVER used to happen.

Pitching. It used to be that I couldnt hit a decent pitch shot if my life depended on it, but now I can hit nice little pitch shots that go where I want them to.
Now if only I could get the driver figured out...

Probably scores: more of my rounds are in the 70's than the 80's this year.

GIR and F-Way's as well. Putting has gotten worse.

I'm improving on everything, but my most improved area is definitely ball striking. I'm making pure contact a lot more often now.

Actually nothing, my handicap is probably a stroke worse than this time last year, and as soon as it seems I have something working it seems to go south on me. I have more confidence in the wedge game but not seeing any significant results.

I've improved on everything that happens before I actually take a shot. In order:

1) Choosing the right club
2) Proper Alignment
3) Going through my pre-shot routine
4) Relaxing and feeling comfortable

This sequence of four events has instilled confidence and eliminated all the negativity. I'm much more assured. I can't wait till my next HC revision. It looks like the HC will be dropping into single digit territory.

Big thing for me this year was playing more.

That has helped bring down the Hcp. and, with the walking, it's cleared my head by pumping more oxygen to my brain.

I traded in some old clubs and got a Odyssey XG Sabertooth putter. Let's just say the putter is a confidence builder. I rarely three-putt. I've worked on consistency and have tried to use less clubs overall - learning how to hit a variety of shots with different clubs.

I read How to Break 90 and have accomplished it. I've joined a league and have learned a new technique employed by many of the players I compete against... fudg'in Handicaps. Seems like I always get beat by guys that are always shooting their best low-net rounds. Shaving up to 20-23 strokes off your round and winding up with a 61-66 was fun to watch the first time... it's been a PITA all the other times.

All in all though, it's been a great year so far. Life is good!
