I played my first round yesterday with the Maxfli Noodle Long & Soft ball and I really liked the way it played.

I found a couple of those a few weeks back and liked them. They compress nicely off the driver and they stop pretty good on the green.

You guys should check out the wilson staff 50 and zip. SUPER EASY to compress and they are very soft around the green.

Not the most durable around the green and not the most distance but its not bad by any means. Other than the DT roll, i don't think i like any ball better than the 50, yet to try the zip but i hear great things.

I'm thinking about switching balls. ProV1's are way too expensive, and I was thinking about switching to Top Flite Gamers or Bridgestone e5's. Anyone have any experience with these 2 balls?

UPDATE

A friend of mine neighbor hunts balls daily at a local course and in selling me 300 plus balls extremely cheap. These suppose to be the better balls he finds. I was told the scuffed balls has been removed. I'll keep some, sell some and the bad I'll use on my driving range. Suppose to get them tis evening.

I'm going to have to agree with Cody, I like the Wilson Staff 50. I'm a high handicapper, but I do think this ball is a lot better for me then others I have tried.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

      I hope you don't mind me raising this one from the dead. I got shortgamechef's video access thing for a few months in 2024. I watched his yip fix videos (the general gist is similar to the first video above, but with a lot more detail) and it made a lot of sense. I was working on it in my backyard off a mat for a while and my yippy thing was mostly gone. Aside from anything else, the flop shot using that technique is so easy and controllable. But I got onto a golf course for the first time of the year and found myself by the green on a downslope with the ball sitting down a little in the rough and I was, not to put too fine a point on it, f***ed. Shallow is all well and good from a good flat lie and I understand it, but you can't make that your be all and end all. I still don't know if it's a good idea to use steep all the time or just when you need to. I have a hard enough time with one technique, let alone too.  Just got a pitching skillest lesson with Erik and unless I misunderstood things some, he wants me a bit steeper. @iacas - where do you fall on the steep vs shallow argument and how do you vary it according to need?
