I have a rescue dual 16* and it is ok. It's not incredible. I may just not be able to hit it well, but I think that there are better options. I have heard great things about the 07 Burner hybrids. They supposedly hit the ball really high and far, and as long as you don't try to work it it's incredible.

I recently replaced my Rescue Mid hybrids. I loved those things! They were just awesome. I had a 3, 4, & 5 iron replacements in steel shafts. They were just really solid. I got rid of them when I got my new irons. I am thinking of getting a 2 hybrid Rescue Mid to replace my 3 wood. I highly recommend them, although I have never hit any other hybrids to compare them to. They worked for my game, but you may hit something else better. If you can get them for cheap, I would definitely go for it. I don't think that you will be disappointed.

I'm using the '07 Taylormade Burner Rescue 18* (3i replacement) with good success. As others have said, from a good fairway lie, it launches high and straight. From a normal rough, it'll still fly, but not nearly as high or as far.

Honestly, I have yet to 'roll one' out of the rough with the club. And I'm not a very good player!

Speaking of the Burner hybrid, has anyone noticed whether they are workable or not. I am thinking about getting one and I really want it to last a long time as I improve, and if it's not workable, then I'm not going to get it!

I play a Rescue Mid 16 degree in stock graphite R and love it. My weakness is fairway woods and that club finally allows confidence on long 2nd shots. I generally get a nice draw but it's true the snap hooks show up and they can be startling, almost laughable. Rough is fine as long as you keep the club at ball level. I've had trouble with weak pushes or pop ups if I ground or nearly ground the clubface in higher rough.

The shaft seems fine to me. The tip is definitely soft but I don't find it whippy at all. In contrast, I have Aldila NVS R flex in one club and that thing definitely alters my swing. I have to ease and load, against my typical tendency. If I try to blast it everything is left.

My only hybrid comparison is Hogan CFT, the older model. The dramatic difference is shaft length. The 17 degree Hogan is 1 3/4 inches longer than the 16 degree Rescue Mid. I'm longer off the tee with the CFT but less consistent off the fairway or anywhere else. Plus, the CFT has almost no feel. That's what startled me. I've primarily played Hogan irons since early '93 and feel is the strong suit. I'd hate to have to find a shot from my CFT 17 or 24 without visual. The CFT Ti versions are supposed to have great feel but I've never tried one.

The Rescue Mid has excellent feel.

BTW, a few days ago my dad found new in plastic Rescue Mids at BJ's Wholesale Club for $29.95 including headcover. This was in Miami. BJ's is a membership club like Costco, primarily located in the East. They had #3 19 degree and #4 22 degree in R flex. He picked up one apiece of both clubs for himself and me. There were only about 12 remaining and every one had R shafts. I'm not sure if that availability is widespread at BJ's, or if they have other loft/flex options.

I have a burner hybrid in 19*. It has a fairly high ball flight but can be controlled heightwise. Working the draw and fade I would not know since that part of my game has never come about.

I have the Rescue Mid and they can hit out of any lie (including St Augustine Rough). I have a 3 and 4 Hybrid. I also use the 3 hybrid off of the tee, quite frequently, when the fairway is tight or there is a lot of trouble. There is very little offset and you can draw or fade it; however, I try to hit it straight for the most part.

These will stay in the bag, as long as possible.

I have a TM 19* Rescue Burner and love it. It's great off the tee for my short home course, and I have hit it out of the rough, and on the extremely rare occasion, it even faded or drew as I set up for.

I have the TM dual rescue #3 tp steel S300 shaft. It is my go to club after a bad tee shot (most used club). Very easy to hit and quite workable. I highly recommend the club. However, I find the thing about hybrids is how it looks to each individual at address. My buddies all love the Nike sumo hybrid. I stand over the thing and just cant wrap my mind around hitting it straight....and I don't.

I've got the Rescue Mid's 2-5 with the Aldila NV Hybrid 85-s shafts. I've hit a couple other hybrids and these are my favorites by far!! The other hybrid I liked was the Adams Mens IDEA Pro Gold Hybrid Utility Clubs, those are just way too pricey for me, but I don't mind buying used clubs. In fact, I prefer it.

Burner Hybrids are by far the best Hybrids I have used. I tend to have a swing that is well adapted to fw woods (i am a 'sweeper"), and these clubs respond very well to that. I do find them to be workable a well.

I have the 21* Rescue Mid and it is one of my favorite clubs in the bag. Great from any lie. I bought the Burners in the 18 & 21 and ended up selling them as all I could do was hook them because of the offset. You can find the old Rescue Mids pretty cheap. Fantastic club

For those of you playing with the Rescue mid, are you playing it in graphite of steel? I would think that since I want it to play like an iron out of the rough, I should get it in steel, but it seems like they are much easier to find in graphite.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
