I know there is a review on the site, and while a great review i wanted some feedback from people that are currently using or/used the ccis in the past.

I am looking for some game improvment clubs and these seemed perfect.
Clean look and most importantly in my price range.
(300-500)

Could someone tell me more about them though?
or
direct me to clubs for a mid handicapper in that pricerange?
Thanks

I spent a little bit of time with them. I preferred the Taylormade R7's and i went with the TP's myself.

Golf Digest and Golf Magazine give the r7's very high marks. Besides that, the Cobra S9's are a great game improvement club as well.

Either way, your best bet is to get an iron swing fitting and allow the technology help you decide what club you hit best.

Just to add, the r7's are very affordably priced right now, you should have no problem finding them in your price range.

Also, check out Mizuno's MX line of clubs. Unbeatable feel and great control for a GI club.

Completely agree. I think these are the best GI clubs on the market in terms of feel with forgiveness.

I play the CCi cast irons, changed to these from blades. Bear in mind these irons are designed for the low to mid handicapper as opposed to mid to high handicapper. Hence they have a smaller face and less offset than typical game improvement irons which I like. They also have a thinner topline and sole which is what I wanted. Good for working the ball if thats what you want to do. They are more forgiving on off centre hits than my blades but while well hit shots feel good there is a slight numb feeling (only slight, you still feel that you have hit it well). They are fitted with TT dynalight gold shafts which are designed to get plenty of height. I would go for it if you like the look and price (I personally think they are very good looking irons).

The Nike CCi Cast irons are not for low to mid hadicappers, the are Game Improvement irons, for mid to high handicappers. The CCi's that are for mid to low handicappers are the CCi Forged, which are just like you described. Smaller face, less offset, thinner topline and sole.

If you are looking for cheap and amazing. Look at the Mizuno MX-17's and MX-19's

I hit quite a few irons last fall before I decided on the CCI's and have no regrets about choosing them. Great feel and the look I was after. After golfing 40 years with most of that time with blades, I wanted a thinner top line and minimum offset.

There are a lot of great irons out there. If you can, just hit as many different ones as possible and make your own choice.

What I meant is they have a smaller face etc than 'typical' game improvement irons such as their slingshot and sumo line and other manufacturers' game improvement irons.

By the way, don't low - mid handicappers need to improve their game? I consider myself to be a low handicap player and they are helping me improve my game. Andrew, keep us posted on how you get on with them.

    • let me check, I think my volleyball tournament is on 6/21, and we are just driving up and back the same day. I may be masochistic enough to then to play golf on Sunday (6/22). 🤣. 6/21 is 100% out for me.
    • Thank you for sharing that. He was quite good wasn't he? I was curious, so took a look. He played 19 PGA Tour stroke play events in 2000. He was 263 under par (they did point that out at the end of the video). If you look at each event he played in and take the best score in each event for a player not called Tiger Woods, that combined field score was -259. So he beat the field - where the field resets every week - over the course of an entire season. That's mind blowing.
    • If they have the same handicap it doesn't matter what you take 35% and 15% of. If you have two low handicaps, averaging them is generally unwise as I said in my first response: a scratch and an 18 would get 9 strokes, which is silly given that one of the players is scratch.
    • Thank you iacas! Interesting take on 35% on Lower Hdcp and 15% on higher Hdcp. Two questions. Why did you choose 35% & 15%? What would I do with tied Hdcp? Right now I'm just adding the two Hdcp. and dividing by 2. We have just 2 golfers with a low Hdcp. The other 10 golfers are very similar. With what I'm doing now, the highest Hdcp. difference, in a match, is 8 once and 7 twice, Again, Thank you very much!
    • Depends on a few things but typically a 60* or 54*.    Currently, pitching is the worst part of my game right now....more so the longer pitch shots.   Its either shank city or I get it on the green but nowhere close to the hole.    Now that courses and ranges are finally starting to open, I will be hoping to revamp that part of my game.   Will start with the vids that Iacas posted above.
