Does anyone have an idea about them yet?

Yes. But I can't say just everything just yet.

More lofts. More grinds. Smoother progressions throughout the whole set (48 to 64) degrees. That's the long and the short of it.

The Spin Milled, or the custom designed, or is there something new that I have not heard about.

they look nice, but as of this moment are a very expensive addition to the bag

i'm wondering if one will be able to order the wedges custom fitted, like all other titleist clubs, choosing correct shafts/loft/lie angles/lengths, etc.

(assuming the answer is yes to that one)

also, will the wedges be conforming to the new USGA rules?

Sure. They will be released prior to January 1, 2010.

According to a representative of Titleist, new Vokey wedges will be released in the upcoming months. According to him, he was unsure if the new wedges would come with stock "M" grinds or other specific grinds; however, he hinted that the Vokey Shop would eventually be running at 100%--whatever that means. In addition, I think the prices of the new wedges will be in the same range as the 200 and SM series. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

One more thing...I could be completely wrong!

We'll have a Bag Drop next Tuesday on the new wedges and putters, but here are my notes:

Wedges - complete new line of Spin Milled Wedges - strongest wedge line ever for the better player - tour, better players, aspiring serious golfers have different swing styles, preferred shot types, different course, turf, and sand conditions and need a full range of loft, bounce, sole, and performance options - "greatest hits" or "ultimate wedge series" - 48 to 64 degrees - low, mid, and full bounce options in key lofts - three finishes - black Ni, Oil Can, Tour chrome, all non glare - instead of individual wedges, more of a CAD design, more wedges, progressive profiles and blends - soft 8620 base metal for feel - spin milled for max groove volume, 10-85% more spin depending on conditions - aggressive, machined groove geometry with steeper draft angles and max depth = 30% more volume - tuned face texture of milled micro edges provide additional gripping power for added spin retention on full and partial shots - four low bounce (58.08, 56.08, 58.04, 60.04) - nine mid bounce (46.06, 50.08, 52.08, 54.11, 56.11, 58.08, 60.07, 62.07 -BN, 64.07 -BN) - four high bounce (54.14, 56.14, 58.12, 60.10) - TC, OC, BN grinds - LH = 48.06, 50.08, 52.08, 54.11, 56.11, 58.08, 60.07, 62.07, 64.07, all TC - D2 (48), D4 (50, 52) to D5 swingweight - DG S200 stock shaft - $109 MAP

      Day 27 (7 Dec 25) - Got in a few swings with 9i and hard foam balls in backyard.  Setup weight fwd (rebuilt left foot really lets me feel the weight in a slightly painful way) - kept the backswing to around 9 o’clock focusing on contact and resulting divot pattern.  Like how the hard foam balls come off the face (almost like real balls in sound).  A good abbreviated session as I only able to hit about a dozen balls in the fading light.

      Not the part I was replying to: Handicaps did not go down much (like 0.14 on average IIRC?) when we went from 10/20*0.96 to 8/20. And a good chunk of that was from the +s.

      I think he meant in the UK. The old system was completely different from the new one. 10/20 x 0.96 vs 8/20 would really only impact very low handicaps I think. The 0.96 serves to increase differentials for plus differentials, where 8/20 vs 10/20 works to lower differentials for all. I don't know many plus golfers who would be upset that their index got lower. A lot of really good players don't even really keep their handicaps up-to-date. They're much more interested in their WAGR rankings which get them entries to certain events.
