Well that turned out to be a great Fiesta Bowl. Well for the Buckeye fans at least. I think ND may have underestimated the talent they were going to face.

Now on to next year. My first pick for the Hiesman. Troy Smith of course. What a great game he had today. He really progressed throughout the season and finished with a great performance.

All I can say is bring on Texas. We play them second game of the year next year. I can guaranteed we won't give them another game. Looks to be an exciting season coming up.

Best of luck to any of you who have games left. Looks like early in the georgia game west va. is up. Should be another good game there.

Ohio State was my preseason pick to win the National Championship this year. They came darn close, too. Had they beaten Texas (and they almost did) that game against PSU would have meant even more and who knows how it would have ended. Replacing the middle of that defense will be tough, but they are still a strong pick for next year.

After watching penn state last night I still don't know how we lost to them. That was one of the worst offensive bowl games I've watched. I don't really think it was because of spectacular defense either. Neither offense could really get anything going. Then at the end when they all started missing field goals it was kind of like a train wreck. I just couldn't turn it off. I was glad to see penn state pull it out but that was painful to watch.

I'm really looking forward to the buckeyes season next year. We lose some big defense so that may hurt a bit but our offense should be top notch next year.

Maybe that's because those were two great defenses on the field last night.

I disagree...it was PSU's spectacular defense that shut down OSU and most of the rest of the big 10/11.

That's exactly the way I would describe it. Being a PSU alumn, it was like watching a train wreck with your family aboard.

Thanks...I was rooting for the Buckeyes against ND. It's hard to believe, but I root for OSU most of the time...unless they are playing PSU.

Tressel is a

great coach. It will be interesting to see what type of team he puts together after recruiting all of his own guys.

Well I'll always pull for the big 10 teams in the bowl games. Got to support the coference at least. I really don't mind penn state. The president of our company is penn state alum so we usually like to get him fired up a little. Was a different story this year though.

I think the big 10 should be pretty tough again next year. I really hope pusluzni sp? I know that can't be right but I really hope that injury last night was not serious. He was a big part of beating the buckeyes and I really hate to see anyone with that much talent get hurt in their last game. Best wishes to him.

They are thinking there might be some ligament damage. It might not be an ACL since the knee didn't bend side to side...just backwards. He was looking to go pro, so I'm not sure what will happen. It is a shame though...anyone who can beat out Hawk for the Butkus award is special. I'll be surprised if A.J. isn't a top 5 pick. I hope he goes 12th to my Browns though.

Now you and me both would love to see AJ go to the browns but I don't think that will happen. Would be nice though. I'm sure his family would love it too.

Hey if Posluszny ( correct now ) makes it he'd still be a good pick for the browns.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
