I am currently playing older Callaway irons S2H2 with a reg flex graphite shaft. These clubs were made around 1990.

I know by far most plays steel shaft irons. I was looking at getting a set of Nickent 3dx irons and notice on the bay that most of their stuff is graphite shaft and they have a lot of stiff flex available. Anyway I just dont know what shaft would be best for the irons. The biggest selection on these nickents are stiff shaft irons. Thanks for any guidance and suggestions,

My main reason for Nickents is a have a couple hybrid nickents and I really like them a lot. For shat its worth my 2 ironwood is a reg flex and my #7 hypbrid is a stiff shaft.

Thanks

older shafts might have a lot of torque. Don't think that one company's R shaft is exactly like another company's shaft. In the old days Callaway had a softer shaft than others. Nickent makes a good product using a good shaft. Find the shaft that you like and works for you and stay with it. A good shop can shaft the heads you like and you should have good results.

I have two sets of burner irons ( one graphite and one steel) and I prefer the set with the steel shafts which is crazy because I give up 15 yards per club but I like the ball ending up closer to the hole. This is nuts because I am a senior but I prefer the steel shafted irons. Remember in golf it is not how far but how many.
