Alright guys, im going to get fitted for some irons this weekend, im fairly new to golf (played ALOT when i was a kid, stopped playing gold and got serious about baseball throughout high-school and my 1st year in college). I started back with my dads OLD noname irons that he had replaced recently. I know these clubs are not right for me so...I want to get something that is.

I would like some suggestions on irons to try out. I'm looking for something with forgiveness, but something that I can keep for a while and can really improve myself with.

I'm looking for ANY suggestions. From older model clubs to newer clubs.

I would say that my score range is probably in the 90-100 range with mulligans here and there. Thanks and sorry to rant : )

I'd suggest the Cobra FP series, or even the Ping Eye 2's. They might be old, but they are definitely great clubs. I would go with anything that's moderately cheap, that you can keep until you are good enough for a new set. I have been playing my Cobra FP's for a year now, and don't see myself purchasing a new set for a few more years. I'd suggest going for a used set in great condition, or an older model that you can get for a good discount. Try ebay. Good luck!

if you're scoring 90's and you have a good swing,,,looking to seriously get back into it, then I'd say mp57. thinner profile. players club but it's forgiving. but best bet, do a blind hit test

Yeah, narrow it down to five manufacturers/models and just see which you hit best. That's what I did and I ended up with the Nicklaus Polarity MTR's. Most MOI of any iron supposedly and that = forgiveness.

What's in my Bagboy Revolver cart bag:

I was a 100-110 golfer for the first 4 years using a no-name set of clubs a buddy gave me. I too decided to amke the investment and after doign ALLOT of research, decided on the Taylormade R7 draw's. The two biggest ddraws to this club for me was #1: I tend to have a slice - th eonly questions is how bad. the secodn is golf digest rated #1 for "improvment clubs" in 2007 (the year they were released).

Another big draw was you can practicly steal them on ebay - can get a set new for $300-$350 dependng if it has the PW or GW. I got mine used for just under $200 and counlt be happier. The set I gto was missing the 4 so I got a rescure draw 4 hybrid and agin, LOVE this club! Out of the rough it is fantastic!

I'm hoping the wife will buy my a Buner Draw 9.5 Driver for our anniversary! I have played the Buner and let me tell you, thats is one SWEEEEET driver. Dont even swing hard and it's a 250-275 yard drive...

what kind of money you looking to spend?

I like the idea of the r7 draw they are going $299 3-pw and a free sw. Sounds like a steal to me.

Personally, I've always played pings, so if you are looking for a great set to last you, and have cash to spend, go for the g10's at $700.
