im a big fan of the original two ball putter. Feels softer than the newer model with the metal insert (even thou it reduces wear)

great fee l-has improved my putting greatly and given me loads of confidence!

I've owned just about every putter possible and the only putter I refuse to part with is the Odyssey White Hot Tour #2.  Best balanced putter I've ever owned.  I like the insert of the original White Hot series a bit better but the balance isn't as good.  Just found a Tri-Hot 2 on ebay and am egerly waiting to test that one out.  If you're willing to spend some $$$ check out the Ti-Hot series.  Haven't tried the other models but the Ti-Hot #2 is fantastic, no insert but defianetly feels like it.

Not a huge mallet fan but the White Hot two ball is a solid stick too.

I used a Rossie 2 for 15 years and recently switched to a White Hot 2 ball blade.

I've been putting with a 2-ball DFX for 6 years.  I tried a few other putters, but just...... can't.  I don't know how to explain it.  Lining up the 2-ball is so natural, it's almost mindless.  The DFX face is slightly harder than the original model so I can focus on my stroke more.

My old stuff I still use:

Irons - Titleist DCI 981 (1998)
Putter - Odyssey 2-Ball DFX
Wedges - Cleveland Rg. 588 (47º, 52º, 54º, 57º)
Driver - Taylormade r7 Quad (2004)
Ball - Pro V1x

LOVE my White Hot XG Rossie blade with a jumbo Tiger Shark grip. I recently tried a couple versions of the Backstryke putters, but they felt mushy. Sticking with my Rossie for now.

My money is on the Teron White Ice. The alignment, weighting, and insert feel all suit my stroke. I also have a 2 ball White Hot XG (??, metal face in white insert), but have never liked the alignment. The face seems too hot for me.

Phil has an amazing alligator skin belt.  Jealous.

    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
    • Day 580 - 2026-05-04 Played eight holes. Sometimes golf kicks you in the nuts. 😉
