hi,
I would like to by my first woods (5-7 and may be the 3)

In my list I have:

callaway FT-i (square)
callaway big bertha
callaway x
callaway FT
taylormade burner

My plan is to buy these woods to learn the use and to grow up with it. (I want to keep it for long time).

bag:
hybdrid: XM1 24°
irons: XM1 (5-PW)
wedges: x-forged 56°
putter: Karsten B60balls: juice ix

I would recommend you try the Ping G10 series also. My buddy just got the 3 wood and he gets awesome distance and very straight.
In my OGIO Kingpin bag:
Driver/Wood - Callaway Hyper X 10*, Ping G10 (3)
Hybrids - Adams IDEA A3 Boxer (3) 19*, Adams IDEA TECH A4OS (5) 25*
Irons/Wedges - TaylorMade R7 5-PW, Titleist Vokey 52* Gap, 56* Sand and 60* Lob
Putter - Nike Ignite 002

i had the ping rapture 5 wood and loved it!!!! i really feel like for the beginner or higher handicap golfer that is one of the best! i kept the club for a long time because i just got up there and swung hard and it went straight, felt great coming off the club face. it was so hard to mess up a shot with that club, and it was very long, i could hit that 5 wood 250-260 everytime. if my ball striking had not started really improving it would still be in my bag. i switched only because the 5 wood swing carried into my driver swing(that didnt go straight and long) and it didnt force me to focus on a good swing. i went with the titleist 906f4 13.5 and sold the rapture only because the titleist forces me to focus on my swing and doesnt allow me to get away with hacking like the rapture. i sold my hybrid as well and went back to a 3 iron( i hit irons 10 times better than hybrids) since i have the 3 iron i dont need a 5 wood. i hit the 3 iron around 250 and i can use the 13.5 if i need longer than that or either do what i hate to do but should try more often LAY UP. also, the titleist is much more similar to my driver, so me hitting the titleist has helped my driving as well. i still cannot say enough good things about the ping rapture 5 wood!

I'm just curious, how far do you hit you highest lofted club, your 9i, your 7i, and your 6i?

Here's what I play:

Titleist 907 D2 10.5* UST ProForce V2 76-S | Titleist 906F4 18.5* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist 585H 21* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist ZB 4-PW TTDG S300 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 54.10 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 60.08 | Scotty Cameron Red X5 33" |

I would recomend the taylormade burner series of woods they are great in terms of getting the ball up in the air.

Burner 10.5* driver
Burner 3 wood GD Pershing Shaft
Burner 5 wood GD Pershing Shaft
Tour Burner irons
Rac black 52* Rac satin 60* Red x 3 pro v1

I have a Callaway X-hot and love it. Great club

In My Bag:

L5V 9.5*
X-Hot 3W
3H HybridIrons: Soon to Come X-Tour Forged 52* 56* 60* Wedges Detour 1

    • Are free fittings a common thing? I was kind of under the assumption that there was usually a cost associated with them, unless you actually purchased their clubs or something.  What's the best way to find free ones?
    • I'd find a free fitting, take your clubs, and see what you can see. For example, we have a PXG fitter come to our academy every Tuesday, and he's great about sharing info about why he's having you hit a certain shaft or clubhead or something. And… if you don't see much of a change, skip it.
    • Day 1 (3 Apr 25) - Restarting the routine after a 4 day quick trip.  Got back in the groove today for some swings of the 6i and driver into the net -‘to just warm the muscles a little.  Wrapped up the day with grandson hitting 20-25 yd pitches in the backyard.  Love watching his swing and also his concept of course management, to hear him say he left himself in a good position to finish (good words from a soon to be 9 yr old)….
    • Day 185 - 2025-04-03 Had a good 2.5 hour session at Golf Evolution. Kinda glad it was still wet and windy out today as I wouldn't have gotten such a good session in if I played. Got up to 93 MPH (with a pause) on my 6I and 130 MPH ball speed (on a different slightly slower hit, a bit more de-lofted than I'll want eventually).
    • I'm highly probable for the entire weekend, thanks for doing the hard work to set it up.  I can't wait for more details.
