Hi all,

I am from Hungary, might sound a bit bizarre for you since 99% of you are from North America =))

I wasn't really interested in golf (or any other sport) until a friend excited me about it, so I went and bought a cheap set, and ever since I've been golfing for 2 months at least once a week.

All I can say is that golf is wonderful, and what makes it so is its versatility, its plenty little details, and the combination of physical, mental, and social activities.

I just want to say that I love your forum, its friendly environment, and the great information sharing it has.

Cheers!

I think fewer of us are from North America than you think But I don't think anyone here is from Hungary, so hello! Feel more than welcome.

I don't know much about Hungary. Do you guys have a good choice of courses? How is the weather, pretty temperate?

Keep on playing! Maybe you can be the first superstar to represent your country one day on the PGA

Guilty as charged.
I am from North America although I lived in Asia for a year and have thoroughly enjoyed visiting Europe - Ireland, Austria & Germany. Oh, and a couple of hours at Heathrow.

Welcome to the Sand Trap!

P.S. baal, you need to work on your handicap index. It looks like it's out of control!

Hey thanks for the welcome!!

Well to answer first about the golf situation in Hungary, well, it's not such a common sports here, so there are about 3 golf courses altogether around the capital, and not much more scattered around the country, but nothing compared to the density you see in the UK or the USA. The ones I've been into here are in very good condition, service is great, and the mood is friendly. Now about the weather, basically Hungary is a flat country surrounded by moutains from all sides, so the weather is mild, and not too much precipitation, so it's perfect for golf for at least 8 months a year!

About the handicap score I put... well I haven't played 18 holes yet, so I never got any handicap calculated, and since it's not optional in the UserCP, I had to put a quite high number to represent symbollically my skills for the moment =))

cheers!

    • Day 9, May 13.  After work, I went to my practice room for a dozen balls (two sessions of a half dozen each).  I may do more later, but I wanted to make sure I posted here too.  Same priority as yesterday, with the arms lifting.
    • Day 263 6-13 Setup alignment stick station for hands off body drill. Worked on wrist arch as well. Working on not hitting the stick 😀
    • Day 64 (13 May 26) - last practice of golf team for the school golf team….got to hit a few balls while working with the kids.
    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)
