Led by the Player of the Year, Paddy Harrington, the Euros have more intensity and have more depth than us. Does this story sound familiar? If we got slaughtered when we had the World's #1, 2, and 3 (Tiger, Phil, and Jim Furyk) in the last two matches, what makes us think we have a chance this year?

I think the Europeans will win ... again
But hopefully not without a fight. I wish both teams the best and may the strongest team win.

I hope it's close this year, obviously I want the Europeans to win but I do worry that the Americans will start losing interest.... hopefully not though.

You make a valid point, as did Seve. However, the US fans will continue to root the team on, not giving up YET. One of our major problems is that our Big Guns have shot blanks---Tiger, Phil, and Jim Furyk. In the "old days", Arnie, Jack, Lee, Tom Watson, and our other stars LED the team and we were dominant. Since 1993 our "leaders" have NOT led (except for 1999, but that required the "Miracle Comeback" on Sunday).

I do not expect much from Phil, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, and Jim Furyk. They do NOT have enough "fire in the belly". In my opinion, the players who are going to inspire the others are Justin Leonard (he can always show them again the replay of THE PUTT from 1999), Anthony Kim, and Boo Weekley. If their spirit carries over to the others, and the strong support from the local crowd in Kentucky fires them up, maybe, just maybe, these matches will be competitive. I hope so. These repeated thrashings are getting too boring now.

Well, I started this thread and I don't think we (U.S.) have any chance at all.

I voted that the thing is locked on Saturday.

I think the Europeans look in great shape,Good matchplay golfers throughout the team. The Americans although at least equal to thier European counterparts at strokeplay dont seem to have the players who will grind out a win when its even going. I take the Europeans to win sometime before the last singles come in on Sunday.

Besides all that I hope to see some great golf, some titanic battles, and may the best team win.

Interesting that it is 20-8 in favour of the Europeans at the moment, considering the majority of the board are Americans.

Well why do you think that would be fraser? You think were freaking happy about it? Lets go back to the UK vs. US and see what happens.

Handily. Anyway, what amuses me is how Azinger wants to stay in touch with Tiger during the tournament! As Woods said, he'll offer some support but there's not much he can do... Result: Europe, by a large margin.

Oh I do hope so, I hate the link the UK has with Europe both politically and sportingly in the Ryder Cup.A UK team ( or should it be GB & Ire as it was before) wouldnt be a lot weaker without the surrender monkeys from across the channel.

One ray of hope for all you depressed Americans are the quick greens at Vallhalla, the last three European victories have all been on slow greens which we all know you guys are collectivly usless on.The greens will be much more to your liking. I think you guys should be a bit more upbeat,I was looking forward to a good bit of banter this week but you all seem resigned to defeat

I'm actually tipping the Yanks to win this one, I don't know if it's because of Faldo or that America hasn't won in what seems ages.

Round one to the U.S - Faldo called Soren Hasen, Thomas Björn.

US on Sunday in a nail biter. The rookies on the US team will be the quiet storm, and Phil will have a great Ryder Cup and prove to be the difference, write it down, you heard it here first.

    • Day 135: worked on putting bead for a while with the 2 cups drill.
    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
