You should feel stoked!! It's nice to get results from your hours of practice and dedication to the game. This game has many ways of rewarding us. It's amazing...we could play bad all throughout the game..and then the last hole drive a ball straight down the middle, nail the green and two putt...and that ONE hole will bring us back week after week. Congratulations!!!

Tools of my game:
Burner 09' Driver 10.5 Reg flex

Burner 08' 4 Hybrid
A70S 3 Hybrid Burner 09' 3 wood "Zing" SW 56 degree Fastback Laser range finder / plus Skycaddie SG5...also a great ball retriever!!

Totally awesome. I still remember my first like it was yesterday. It was a 297 yard par 4 and it was all because of my drive. The drive put me about 20 yards from the edge of the green, chipped it to about 6 feet and then made the put. I know exactly how you feel, enjoy it and know there will be many more

That's awesome! My first came on a typical par 3 after I'd been playing for about a year. I hit the ball to a few feet and then sunk the putt. Good luck and may you have many more birdies... perhaps even an eagle someday.

Just got my first on Saturday. A short 227 yard par 4, hit a 4 iron about 185, pitched it onto the fringe, hit a seven iron about 5 feet away a drain the put. Felt great.

Had my first par and birdie this season too.

It was a gap wedge shot from the rough about 25 yards from the cup, bounced and rolled right into the hole. :)

Yeah I was gonna say, 4 iron off the tee of a par 5? With you being only a 17 handicap you could probably get so many more birdies if you could learn to use your driver.

    • Day 21 - Good session with driver and 6i. Hitting real golf balls is quite a bit different from the foam balls, still getting used to that change.
    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
