I doubt this is going to happen.

The European Tour has upped the minimum number of events a player has to take part in to be a member to 12 (this includes four Majors and three WGC tourneys)
Furthermore, I don't think there's going to be special exemption for players to to play in the 'Race to Dubai'. If that's definately not the case, I don't know if US players will really change their current schedules.

The only way I can see some of the US players making such a big move is if the current financial crisis/credit-crunch puts pressure on some of the financial and motor company sponsors currently involved in the PGA Tour.
