Next season, when Tiger is back, he's going to have some real competition in golf.

Camillo just proved his worth to the world and i gurantee will be a real force in the upcoming years. Sergio is nasty, Padraig Harrington is nasty, Anthony Kim is up and coming...it's going to be a real show.

Tiger whom?

Did something happen to them while he's been away?

Pretty much have to agree here.

When did you last see Woods leading by close-of-play on the Friday, then drop back to 4th or 5th after 9 holes on the Saturday, then start off as leader on the Sunday but still end up in a play-off? He's the best front-runner in the game, bar none .

No, but JYB is nicely demonstrating how one's familiarity can suffer in absence.

Tiger's not afraid of Camilo Villegas. What'd he win the Tour Championship at last year? It wasn't -7... and the greens were bad last year.

Be fair. The course went a complete overhaul, this year. Greens were moved, more sandtraps, etc. Not saying Tiger would have shot -7 or Camilo would have shot -22 or whatever it was. However, it was two different courses.

Of course. Still doesn't change my point, which is to say that saying "Tiger is afraid of Camilo Villegas" is stupid, stupid, stupid.

he isn't going to be scared of villegas, nobody is saying that. what i am saying is that camillo is coming into his own and i think with tiger off the tour for a while, the other players have established some newfound confidence. we'll see...it should be an exciting season next year.

Fair enough. And I think it'll go right back to just about where we've been the previous 12 years.

I honestly think next season will be one of the more exciting seasons in recent history. I feel like the younger generation of golfers are starting to come into their own, and thanks to Tiger's injury they have began to taste success. Nothing is more important in golf than confidence. Many of the 30 and 40 somethings on the tour have lost that. They are happy to make millions playing for 2cd and 3rd. Who wouldn't be?

That being said, I'm sick of the Tiger ney sayers. Regardless of how many injuries he suffers or how many swing changes he has to make to deal with them, he will always have what age cannot take away from him - mental toughness and an undeniable will to win. He will stare you down and beat you 9 times out of 10. That can't be coached, that can't be trained. Sure Tiger will lose something in athleticism with age. I just can't wait to see how strong he comes on late in his tour career. Sam Snead and Vijay have showed him how to do it. 18 majors are a lock, Snead's record will impress me more when (not if) it falls.

Tiger will pick up where he left off, winning. When his putting is on, he is unstoppable. He plays his game and doesn't worry about the other golfers. They are the ones always wondering about him. Basically, when he is playing, I believe other people are intimidated a little, they just don't want to admit it. I would dare to say that he wins within his first three tournaments played, if not the first one, or maybe even 2 out of the first three.

Could not agree, more. He's not going to come back until he's 100% healthy both physically and mentally. After his father died, he came back to soon and it showed. He even mentioned that he was not ready to come back and his first stop was going to be the practice range. He won't embarrass himself like Willie Mays playing for the NY Mets.

    • Rush or delay your own pace and you are probably going to suffer in the long run. PGA pro are well oiled machines that work on an specific pace, it's not surprise that if you move them out of their normal routine things are going to go sideways. I normally don't rush shots, but I sometimes delay the trigger if I'm not feeling it. The result is a lack of athleticism, I kind of get a little stiff and I could loose some yards and accuracy.
    • It seems like the title to this thread may have been edited. Super hilarious BTW.
    • Argentina: I read about the 3 or 4 clubs challenge in several countries. Here in Argentina, once a year, on several clubs, "Torneo de Brujas" (The witches tournament) is played. It consist on the same concept, only 4 clubs are allowed but the difference is that only woman can play it. What amaze me is that the winning scores are almost the same as if they were playing with all 14 clubs. Seems like sorcery to me..
