They will beat their swords into golf clubs and their spears into putters. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Old Tom Morris 2:4

This technology would have been great a couple week ago when we got hit with the remnents of Hurrican Ike here in Ohio. We experienced a CAT 1 wind that knocked down trees and power lines all over. I'm still working on cutting up a 70' silver maple in the front yard!

For many, it took over a week to get power back on. For some in rural areas, they are still having problems.

I hope John can get his invention into the market and people can take advantage of it... I hope he doesn't get bought off by conglomerates who will supress his patent.

It's seductive to imagine such a thing is possible, but it's not. It violates the most basic unversal laws of physics.

That's the historical truth.

There could be no "perpetual motion" machine because of friction. Those are the rules for most mechanical devices. I don't think it will always be that way. We will not depend on 19th Century based mechanical devices. With advances in atomic and sub-particle research, I think we will have something that approaches "free" in my lifetime (which ain't that much longer). Never say never. Never say always.

I don't think it will always be that way.

Energy/mass is conserved. If we use energy, it has to come from somewhere. I'm fairly confident saying "never" here - sub-atomic or not.

the extra-energy is coming from opening up a vortex to other dimensions via the magnets

You have to consider that this is only conventional wisdom based on what we know at the moment.

Remember at one point it was 'known' that the world was flat. If everyone had followed conventional wisdom, your country would not be what it is now.

the form of energy is changed not used, eg. electric energy used through a resistive load is changed into heat.

LOL.

And that vortex is how the aliens will arrive here on the 14th and change the game of golf forever, right ganj?

I didn't say anything different. Energy must come from somewhere - be it matter or another type of energy - and it's then conserved (by creating matter or, most often, translating into other forms of energy).

This machine's a fake, pure and simple.

the energy may come from dark matter? we must not overlook that. after all, isn't 90 % of the universe composed of dark matter so let's not rule that out.

also, as this is a golf forum, how will the free energy machines affect the game of golf? will each golf cart have its own free energy machine or will there be one central free energy machine in the caddy shack that charges up the golf carts?

This is not entirely true if one accepts that the expansion of the universe is being driven by dark energy . If one accepts that position then one has to also ponder that energy is being created in violation of the second law of thermodynamics .

This is manifest nonsense the whole point to dark matter is that it does not interact with matter in the baryonic universe other than on a very weak scale certainly infintesimally smaller scales than those required by electromagnetism.

I want to beleive... but, nope, it's not reality. ganjagolfer, it's just a pipe dream; pun intended.
