Hello Everyone,
I've been hitting the ball straight with a slight draw on a regular basis but I notice for the past 2 months now I keep hitting the ball near the heel of the club. Could my swing have changed to be flater? But I still hit the ball straight and not hooking it. It's just that I keep on hitting at the heel and not the center of the face. Should I adjust my irons?

Thanks for any suggestion!!

Hello Everyone,

I started noticing that with my new irons as well (735cm). The ball impact is closer to the heel than before, and at times I actually hit a hossle rocket. This happens when I get too quick on my back swing and when the ball is a little too far from me. I slowed my back swing down and placed the ball slighly closer to me, much better results!

Hello Everyone,

I would suggest you check your setup. It may be simply that you have moved a little too close to the ball.

The actual sweet-spot of most irons is more toward the heel of the club than dead center. However, if you're flirting with the hosel do like Erik suggested and check your setup and if your clubs weren't fit when you got them that might be a good idea, too.

Thanks jeff, I was at the driving range today all my hits where closer to the heel. The feel is great and it goes really straight and high. Nice to know that I am actually hitting it on the sweet spot. I still had a few hosel rockets...really weird, so i slowed down my swing again and kept my lower body still on my back swing, and I was back on track. This 735s are really nice clubs and I am very happy that I am able to hit it. Ofcourse it will take time for me to get use to it.

Thank you so much for the tips. I will try this out at the next range session and see if I notice any changes. Good to know that the sweet spot is close to the heel

Well, its not exactly close to the heel, its just heel-side of center.

Well I moved the ball more to the center/back of my stance and I'm smacking it dead center...on some clubs but I'll work on it. Also moving it back took away the slight fade I had too

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll keep you posted if things goes wrong

another reason for it could be a "flying out" right elbow. make sure you stay connected during the downswing (ever seen Vijah on the range with a towel rolled up in his right armpit ?).
