I searched the forum for any info on winter gloves and didn't find what I was looking for, so I figured I'd post this. Today I went down the road to my local course to play a quick nine only to find out it was absolutely freezing out. By the end, my hands just about felt like they were getting frostbitten...I then realized I should look into winter gloves.

Are winter gloves beneficial? I assume you keep them on while putting? Which brand do you recommend? How should they fit?

Even though it has been quite cold, the sun has been shining so I am going to continue to play, and winter gloves could be the solution to my problems...what do you guys think?

Go for it. I have a pair of FJ winter gloves that have the golf glove leather on the palms, with gortex for the rest of the glove, etc....anyways - they keep my hands warm on those below 40 degree mornings. I think they were $19 at Golf Galaxy.

Get a pair that fits similar to a golf glove. I keep them on all round.

I agree with Magnus. The FootJoy winter gloves are nice. I haven't needed them yet this year, but I have a brand new pair in my bag ready to go.

I've got the FJ winter gloves, but I find them a little too desensitizing. I instead just wear regular gloves on both hands, and then wear a fleece jacket with nice warm pockets. I'm usually not playing if it's below 40F though. I would, it just isn't that cold around here during golfing hours.

i have not played in 40 or below yet this year, but for those 45-60 days i like to use a normal golve, and inbetween shots i stick my hands in my pockets where i carry 2 hand warmers... works great and those things last for hours.

There are times when wearing the winter gloves are an absolute necessity. I have a pair of FJ's in my bag for those days when the weather just doesn't want to cooperate. I find them a bit awkward at first, but not to the point of interfering with play. You certainly lose some feel around the greens, but your hands are much better off than when the fingertips are turning blue and there's no feel at all in them.

Those hot pocket devices (you know the ones that you activate and put in your pocket) are very handy to have around, as well.
