not familiar with any of those tracks, but i've played the host of the 2007 ncaa golf natl. chamionship on the gold course at Golden Horseshoe, and would highly recommend it:

you could also easily play Mike Stranz's Tradition at Royal New Kent while you're in the area as well...

Those courses are noice, but if you want to play the cream of the crop in Williamsburg, I would play the Gold course at Golden Horseshoe, Royal New Kent and the River course at Kingsmill

So I'm looking at a group golf trip in late march with 3 rounds in Williamsburg VA at:

I just purchased four rounds at Fords Colony. I'll try to remember to give a report back to this thread after we enjoy a round on one of the courses.

In the mean time, when you complete your rounds maybe you can give a report back on how the courses are for you? I hope I got an acceptable deal...four rounds for $130. Will let you know.

Although my wife's parents live in Williamsburg and we visit a couple of times a month I'm yet to try out any of the courses down there. Am aware that of a very good selection in the town Kingsmill and Golden Horseshoe are the better ones.

$130 for 4 rounds at Ford's Colony sounds great! I have a few friends that live in Ford's Colony.

I think Golden Horshoe is a great course.

Kingsmill River coure is nice but a tad over priced. I like the woods course at Kingsmill

I liked Yorktown at Williamsburg national over the other one. No real reason just enjoyed it more.

In my Bag

4LM 12 Degree

AP1 5-G Rosa putter

    • Day 242 4-19 correct hip/chest movement in backswing. Less hip turn more chest turn. Did a bit of wrist arch stuff as well.
    • Day 42 (19 Apr 26) - Spent a bit of time working on maxing torso rotation…hit a few pitches to help reinforce.
    • Thanks - that was a total surprise…

    • First round at Quail Ridge: 47 + 47 = 94 *Note: It was 25+ mph winds with gust in the 35+ mph. It was also around 58 degrees. I felt like I was out in Oregon. The greens were very firm.  Driver was decent. It didn't cause me an issues.  Irons were the biggest issue. Just low point control was lacking. Mostly on the chunky side. Also, my irons were routinely 20-30 yards shorter than normal. Even on holes with a cross wind, the ball was just dying. We played an extra 9 holes after the first 18, and the wind died down by then. I stepped into a 9 iron, and it came up 15 yards short. I have no clue what is going on. I should not be hitting 9 irons 140 yards when I am hitting my driver 300 to 310 yards.  Warmup didn't give me much confidence. I just kept shanking every other iron shot. I didn't shank an iron during the round. I just felt all out of sorts today. Coordinate felt off.  yea, I have no idea if I am purposely slowing down my swing to feel my downswing piece. Again, I hit a decent 9 iron and lost 15 yards of carry. I hope this is just an off day.
