I joined. Can someone explain how the teams work? I see four available, and four on the bench. What purpose do the bench players serve? Do they play if one of the others withdraws or doesn't make the cut?

I can't find the help page, but I didn't look too hard.... :)

i joined but im along with others, never done fantasy golf before and i dont know what the heck im doing haha

Using the arrows below your players' pictures, you can change your players from round to round, putting them in play or on the bench. Basically makes you follow round by round, then your cumulative score for the week is tabulated. Here is the official quote I got from Yahoo in a confirmation email:

"Your goal is to earn more points than other managers by selecting the players who perform the best in actual professional golf tournaments. Each week you'll pick a team consisting of two A players, four B players and two C players. Of these players you'll select a foursome (one A, two B, and one C) to activate for each round." Hope this helps.

yep thats it, thanks gogolfing. 1 more day until the tournaments begin for anyone else who may want to join. I havent done fantasy golf either, but it seems like a good layout, and yahoo fantasy sports are solid. get ready for the mercedez benz to start tomorrow!

just a heads up...a lot of the players listed a few weeks ago are actually not playing in the tournament tomorrow. you may need to change your lineup...good luck

Well, the first round is over. I didn't do as well as I had hoped, something like 24 points if I added it correctly. How did ya'll do? None of the pre-round info I read said that Vijay was playing injured. Did any of you here about that before today? Maybe I'm just not researching enough.

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…

      I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
