Got a 9.5* FT-9 with a Grafalloy ProLaunch 65 Stiff shaft
X22 Tour 3-iron
58* C-Grind Wedge
15 Dozen iX Balls, yes, 15 dozen...

Talked to my rep about the need to play the new irons and he said Callaway is more about getting the new drivers out in the open. So I'll be sticking with the current X-Forged.

Are you sponsored by Callaway, or is it just a coincidence that all of your clubs (minus the putter) are Callaway?

Yeah I'm "on staff" with Callaway. It's one of the benefits of the poor pay scale while working at a club. Most shop employees will rep a manufacturer in order to produce sales through the club. So although one won't be a millionaire on wages, there are nice perks while working at a club. And this is one.

Give me some!!! hah i wish i was you with club companiessss.

hah nice, don't forget to give us your review of the ft-9, from what i hear it's supposed to launch higher than the ft-5 and have a better sound.

No, I've never hit the protos Rocketsauce. They sure look nice though.

i have however hit the FT-9 already, and yes, it's a beast. Doesn't have the hollow feel, clunky sound anymore. Now its bit more sharp off the face and a little more titanium-my sounding.

Yeah I'm "on staff" with Callaway.

I've noticed that most of the Club Professionals that I see at country clubs are on staff with Callaway. I never see anybody on staff with brands like Mizuno, Bridgestone, Cleveland, or Ping. So does Callaway just offer more than other brands for Club Pros?

p.s. sorry I messed up on the Quote.

Uh, dunno. We actually have two on staff with Callaway at my place. But also a Titleist girl a TaylorMade guy and a Ping guy. So we run the gamut. I know TaylorMade has a pretty big presence in SoCal. Lots of TM guys. But it is nice to have a brand that can deliver everything from clubs to shoes to balls to bags. That may be a reason why.

My uncle is on staff with Mizuno, but he is the only one I have seen. I have seen a lot of Titleist though.

I was wondering about this too. I kept hearing about how the touring pros switch out their wedges so often, and I wondered what happened to the old ones. I figured maybe they had a garage full of wedges with shafts that most of their neighbors would never be able to use.

Question, you are obligated to play Callaway equipment correct? If you were not on staff with them would you still carry their clubs in your bag?

I'd imagine the actual touring pros get to keep their goods. Whether they do or not is the real question. I like to save old clubs so I would, but maybe some don't need the "clutter". Or maybe they donate the goods to buddies, charities...

That's a good question. My fairway wood and hybrid, absolutely I'd be playing. I've been playing Callaway fairway woods since their inception. A superior product. The FT-5 took some growing into. At the time I got mine I would have rather been playing the Titleist 905 because those have the nice titanium feel and sound. But I am excited about this FT-9, very excited! Irons... I gotta say, I never thought I'd be playing Callaway irons. That is until they introduced these XForged. Honestly, I think they are the best looking irons on the market, well the American market at least, I'd love to get my hands on a set of Miuras, but that's another story. These XForged irons are gorgeous, weighted correctly and have a fantastic feel. I was playing an Odyssey putter, the XG7, it was alright, but I ultimately went back to my old stand-by Bridgestone.
