thinkin about goin to an all taylormade setup anyone play them?? if so how well do they perform??

I wouldn't do it...

It has always struck me as sort silly looking to play all one brand, unless of course you are sponsored or some such thing.

I always see "that guy"... you know, the one with a Nike staff bag and all new Nike clubs who is probably one of the six worst players you have ever played with. He just picked up the game and already has two golf pros and every other golf gadget under the sun, but will never break 100 without creative scorekeeping.

What’s wrong with having all one brand? That’s a big generalisation that you have made there I have all the one brand and have no trouble breaking 100 and my mate has all Callaway gear and regularly breaks 80.. So to answer the question about all Taylormade equipment , if you like that brand then go for it.

I have nothing but Taylormade,except my putter in the bag. 2 year old Driver, r7 woods and hybrids, 2005 model os2 irons I picked up used, and even play the TP Ball , and I'm not sponsored by anyone but my job. I liked the feel of all the clubs, after trying many different irons and drivers. And I usually average mid to low 80's , not bad for having played for going on 2 years, so if they feel good , use them.

I have used, and still have in the closet, an all taylormade bag and i think they're great. I have the r7 tp irons, tour burner driver, burner fw wood, rac black tp wedges, and a rescue dual hybrid. It doesn't matter what other people say about those who prefer to use one brand and how bad they are. If you feel more comfortable using one brand for whatever reason, just do it.

we are a golf family. My brother and i are about the same HI and he has an all Cobra setup, including putter, and my dad has an all callaway setup, and he regularly breaks 80, so if you like every thing from driver to putter from a brand, then you can do what ever you like.

If you are getting new equipment, buy what is best for you. If that happens to be TaylorMade, then so be it. However, I would not buy an all TaylorMade set just to have it.

I play a TM driver (r7 Superquad). I think TM makes some of the best woods and drivers on the market. They offer like 10 drivers now, so anyone can find one that works. I was not a huge fan of the Burner line, but my friend (scratch golfer) plays the hybrid. The r7 TP irons were alright for me. I just liked some other irons better. I have not used the rac wedges for anything more than a chip, so I'm not sure about them.

Get whatever works for you best. Don't make the clubs work so you can have a TM set up.

One brand golf isn't ideal even the tour players don't play with one brand because some companies make better types of clubs than others. I would suggest Taylormade woods and irons then use titleist wedges.

I think vokeys are overrated, and that there's no difference between vokeys and taylormade Z wedges, they both produce crazy spin, vokeys are just more known.

Silly if you ask me. I think their stuff is overrated and only sell because of their tour pro usage.

I would not say that this is always true. In a month or two I will probably have an all Titleist setup and I usually shoot low 80s. Now that said I have seen many a fellow who uses the same equipment and can't hit worth ANYTHING.

As for TM i personally do not like them i just switched from an R7 425, burner 3 wood and hybrid to titleist and there is a world of a difference. Good luck.

first of all this was meant as sort of a joke

No offense, but I really don't get the point of this thread. Have you hit all TM clubs and said," These are better than mine."? or did you just say hey I like TM i'll give them a try, either or I don't think it matters what we say, no one really cares how you spend your money/ and it should be none of our business, so try them, if you like them, go for it.

I have to agree with the other members but to sort of answer your question, I went in a golf store thinking I was gonna purchase Callaway X-20's last weekend and I walked out of there with a set of TaylorMade R7's. I hit both about the same distance but the TM's just felt a lot smoother than the Cally's. So I guess what I'm saying is TM does make some good clubs but I wouldn't settle on one brand. Try out multiple clubs and choose what "feels" best to you.

Taylor Made makes good stuff, just like almost every other big name golf brand (and many small or unknown brands). It's really all about what you like. Each brand has elements of their clubs that 'match', be it color or some sort of graphics (at least within same 'line'). Playing the same brand through the bag is more of a mental thing than anything else. If you prefer the way the Taylor Made's look and feel and think they are the best for you, then go for it, because if you play what you like, you'll feel more confident. I play with a guy who is Mr. Taylor Made - everything including his bag is TM (funny thing is he refuses to wear Adidas clothes because he hates Sergio). He swears he bought each and every club because it was the one he liked best.

Personally, I don't think I would ever be able to find 14 clubs from the same manufacturer that I felt were the 14 best clubs for me. I have been looking at purchasing new Mizuno irons, which would give me 3W, 2H, 4H, 5H and 6-PW of Mizunos, but I would still not want Mizuno putter, driver or wedges just because they were Mizunos. Each of my clubs is the brand and model that I feel are the best clubs for me, brand be damned (with the exception of my irons, which were my second favorites when I bought, but were $400 less than Mizunos at that time).

He asked a simple (albeit vague) question. "Anyone play TM and how do they perform". If you play TM woods comment, if you play their irons comment, if you play one of their putters comment, if you play their balls comment. If a guy wants to carry one brand so what! Golf is as much mental as it is physical. The great thing is we can make whatever choice we want.

The only TM club I have is a Burner 3-wood that I picked up last year. It performs well in every category (especially from really tight lies)….although it rarely sees any playing time because my other 3-wood performs better off the tee.

I agree Caddy...I have been playing TaylorMade for 20 years. I am on my 3rd set now. I look at it this way, "if it works, why change" IMO, todays clubs are so close, you cant go wrong with any of them. Find you a brand that you like and go with it and dont worry about what other people think. Remeber you are the one that has to sign your card
