Very understandable, Mizuno make great clubs, people want great clubs, ergo, page 1 full of Mizuno threads. ;)

Titleist are great also, up there in the top with Mizuno on the quality of irons. Mizuno also got a great variety of range in their selection from everything to players clubs to great game improvement.

That's so true! You can get traditional muscle back blades or the most radical hybrid/SGI combo set, and anything in between. Plus their lofts are fairly consistant and the shaft lengths and lies are the same between models. That makes it very easy to mix and match sets. I still think they are some of the best looking irons. Even the new MX100s haven't gone too far down the uber-graphics path.

Oh man. We've got 5 threads on Mizuno on the first page if you count this one. SYSTEM OVERLOAD! There's only so much Mizuno a man can handle.

But seriously, they're good clubs.

Thanks for demonstrating how little you know about me or how this site is run.

I'd assume this was tongue-in-cheek, but the lack of emoticons kind of tells me you're honestly surprised. I do think this thread's pretty pointless, but I couldn't care less what people think about Titleist equipment (or Mizuno, or anyone else) or how they discuss it so long as they're within the bounds and rules of the site and common decency.

Big kudos for saying "I COULDN'T care less". Most people say "I COULD care less" which means they care a little, at least. That's way off topic, but a pet peeve of mine.

Great clubs, and deservedly popular. But, yes, a bit much, almost cultish. One of my best friends plays the MP-52s. He won't shut up about them. I am getting sick of it. I get it, they are great clubs.

I demoed some the other day.....I can see why he is hyped.....it's still just a set of irons, though. Golfer has to make a good swing, as the clubs aren't gonna do anything magical for you. IF.....IF.....Excaliber was a seven iron vs. a sword....methinks it would have been a Mizuno. Sorry.....couldn't resist.

Pet peeve of mine too. I always want to yell "THEN DO!" when people say they "could" care less.

If I had to think of one negative thing to say about Mizuno irons, and that would be hard to do, it would apply to graphite users like myself. Mizuno doesn't ship any graphite shafted irons as an option except the ones with their own Exsar shafts.

The Exsar plays almost identically to an Aldila NV Pro 105, which is a fine shaft. Still, if you want something in graphite a little lighter and tip softer, Mizuno doesn't make the right weight heads for it.

After that, I'd have a hard time imagining a thing to complain about. And I'm perfectly cool with the Exsars.

Truer words were never spoken.

Seriously though, Mizuno makes great clubs. Yet, Mizuno doesnt really sponsor very many top players (name someone who is sponsored by Mizuno other than Luke Donald, Brian Gay and Stacey Lewis), yet they have an almost cultlike following, so I think people are wondering just why people think Mizzies are so great. I think its a good thing that people are talking about more than just the usual suspects (Titleist, Callaway, Ping, Taylormade).

A brand that has very little advertisement by professional players must be making good products to keep such a popularity. You can not avoid seeing Ping, Nike, Titleist, Callaway etc. in the ads and on the tours, but you don't see Mizuno much, still it's a pretty popular brand.

I've always heard and read that it was due to the lack of payola.

Once club manufacturers' contracts with pros exploded into big time money (read post Tiger) Mizuno began to fall behind in player usage on tour. Now I can't say that is true for certain, just how I've heard it many times. Honestly, the pros can play with any clubs. Why wouldn't they go with the company paying the most?

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
