Hell... I already los my job! Maybe I will get my handicap down to 2 before my money runs out so that I can pass the players test and teach golf for a living!

That is assuming anyone will be able to afford to pay me for lessons by then. Hell... we might all be lined up in soup kitchens or using our old steel shafts from our iron sets as tubing for our stills or meth labs. Times is tough and da wages is low! BigBallSmasher

some clubs are under severe strains. will you play less golf?

Actually....I now play more golf (not this month...nursing a knee injury) but only at my home course. I cut out almost all the golf I was playing at other courses. I just couldn't justify paying additional funds to play elsewhere every week.....basically $200 more each month to play a "strange" course once a week plus maintain a membership.

I've also scaled back on other hobbies to the point where golf is pretty much it. Golf simply fits my family and work schedules much better than hunting did and is more enjoyable (don't miss getting up at 3:00am on a day off to get hunting gear loaded and haul to the hunting club....only to freeze my arse off).

The economy will probably change a lot of my routines, but golf will be right near the bottom of the list if i can help it.

I'm actually planning on increasing my golf this year. As other said, I'm hoping for more golf deals out there.

I'll be playing more... not so many players jamming up the courses.

No. I was already very frugal in controlling my per round costs. If anything, I might be more inclined to play more often if there are less people out there to slow play down. Now more then ever, courses need throughput of players vs cost per round.

I would also be more inclined to play more courses if the costs came down, something I am sure we wont see happen but one could only hope.

Bought cheaper shoes....doesn't payback here as they wear worse.....still struggling finding the "right" pair. The manfs change styles so dang often.

Try the Footjoy Contour series. Right out of the box they feel like your slippers.

hopefully we will only benefit from the economy changes. i'm hoping courses lower prices to increase golf traffic. hopefully some clubs will come down in price, making them more affordable. and i just finished off my set, besides SUMO 5000 which i have the money set aside for already, so that will help out my wallet. i have a membership at a course i love, which will really help out so i don't hafta go out and play everywhere all the time, and the range is free there so that leaves $100 in my pocket every week.

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
