LT vs LT2

I have been searching to find the difference between these 2 and can't seem to find anything. TM website only has the LT's specifications and those are also the ones reviewed in Golf Digest. So my question is,,, where do the LT2's come in?

I am torn between the LT2 and Callaway 06 big bertha right now as well.

Yes actually right after I started this thread. It was very informative about the LT but I still did not see a description of the difference between the 2 clubs.

The LT2 - which TaylorMade has never actually called the "2," just the "LT" - is a little more forgiving than the first version (the "LT").

That's the official answer.

Thanks for the help. Now I just need to determine for myself If I can handle "player irons" or not. I am coming from the LCG's and they seem very similiar but don't know if I should go for them or not. Similated today and the best was the Callaway BB 06, hit a 6 iron straight 195 yds avgd 180 and a draw or straight.

The LT's I hit really well as well and think I can learn more with them in the next few years. But I have a problem getting shots up in the air in the past. Decisions decisions. Thanks for helping a newbie out. More forgiving is what I actually hoped for.

Ed Koster is around a 12 handicap on a good day, a 14-16 on a not-so-good day. His driver gets him in the most trouble, though, and his short game is suspect. With his irons, he's around a 12 handicap. He uses the irons.

I don't know if the LTs count as "player" irons. And if you can't get shots in the air, they have a lot of weight pretty low. If you hit your 6-iron 180, then you should be able to get anything up in the air...

I wouldn't worry about these clubs. I've tried them out extensively in a simulator and at the range and found them very easy to hit. If you have anything resembling a decent and consistent swing, these clubs will be no problem getting the ball in the air.

Yeah, as a mid-teen handicapper, I think you'd "outgrow" the BB '06s pretty quickly. A friend of mine is a mid-teen guy, and just got the LT2s. Played a few days ago... after a 190 yard 4-iron to the center of the green, he fell in love with his irons. I'd say the BBs are good for someone in the mid-20's and up... someone having a hard time getting consistent contact and getting the ball in the air.

you should go for the mp 30's, they are so easy to hit, light, in other words their like almost the same things as the "lt2" but forged, better feeling, thinner topline, and mizuno. lol about the mizuno part. but you should try these, if you can hit the lt's fine, then the mp 30's will be even better.

I have found a really good set of them But I would want to test them out as I have never even hit a set of any Mizuno's. well I guess I will go to the golf store again today.

I found one set in all of Toledo and I did like the way that they were weighted and looked. I also liked the "feel" in my swing, thought I would be able to read my shots better with them. However (and this might be in my head) I felt I was missing the lower center of gravity that the cavity backs have that I usally hit with.

I definetly think that if my swing matures the way I hope it does in about 3 or 4 yrs I will be in the market for a forged set. Right now I am going to go with the LT2's regular flex steel.

I think the reason you didn't like the mp30's because the shaft were probably not good for you. They are really pleasant with the flighted rifles and feel solid. Anyways the LT2 are excellent choice as well, I hope you like them

P.S. Are you going to get the stock rifle shafts with the lt2's, they are really nice

yep they are "off the rack" clubs. I hit them really well in the simulator and can't wait to get them out on the range. Hopefully they get here tomorrow so I can use them this weekend, otherwise I should have them Monday or Tuesday (right before week 2 of league)
