So I've asked on numerous occasions about my Titliest Tri Spec shafts which are a lighter weight than S300's and I just want to know what you guys think...

If my driver swing speed averages about 90-93 mph, yet I hit stiff shafts irons much better (lower and longer) than regular flex, will I lose anything (distance, spin, etc) if I have my clubs reshafted from the R Flex Tri Specs to the S Flex S300?

I've found that I although I might not swing the club fast, I do exert a lot of force on my downswing and I think the R Flex Tri Spec shafts are causing my shots to ballon and even my head to torque too much.

A stiffer shaft may make you loose distance, yet it will allow you to control the ball more. As you know steel shafts have a very different feel to them. Try out multiple shafts and see which you feel most comfortable with.

It's possible you are swinging you irons much faster (in relation to you driver SS) I know I do. But to say balooning- im not sure, maybe. Try finishing lower with your swing, that should promote a lower flight, and see if that helps any.

Do you know what your iron swing speed is? My driver swing speed is also low to mid 90s and I play R300s. My 5 iron swing speed is high 70s, maybe low 80s (I have to measure it again). I have a set of MP-32s with S300s and seem to hit them a little lower, but probably not further. I have a smooth tempo so I'm better off with the regulars. It's possible that the Tri-Spec shaft may be a little weaker than a R300.

Yes, regular Tri-Spec to S300 would be a massive leap. Try out some shafts first to get a feel of what's right for you.

    • Does Justin Thomas have a massively underrated short game? It seems every time I look up he's hitting it close from a tough lie after short siding himself. What masterful touch
    • I freaking hate them. Too expensive, cheaters, food sucks, too dependent on weather, I keep telling myself never do it again but I'm a dummy
    • I enjoyed the A-B-C-D scramble we did at Kittyhawk before it shut down. Yes. The point was to meet the other members and get the season kicked off. Nobody took it too seriously. At least with that group, cheating wasn't a big issue.  As the D part of A-B-C-D, I enjoyed getting to play with one of the Association's top players. One year I played with the city champ. Man could he hit a ball.  It probably isn't something I'd want to do more than once a year, but it has its place.
