hey guys I was looking around and I just saw some great rantings on king cobra sz irons. I am a ok golfer and i usually get bogeys and pars with 2 or 3 birdies. I am also looking at titlest ap1s and taylormade burners.

so I was wondering if you guys had or know of anyone who has had any experience with the new king cobra irons and do you think they are best for me.

I really don't want you to think I'm trying to bust you out here, because I'm not at all. I just have to ask, if you usually get bogeys and pars with 2 or 3 birds, how could you be a 36? I think maybe you might not have updated your handicap? The only reason I bring it up is because it's hard to recommend clubs if we are not real sure where your game is at. If that makes sense?

I have not hit the SZs but I do very much like the Cobra S9IIs. From the reviews I've seen the SZs were supposed to have a 20% wider sole than the S9IIs, which were plenty wide. I must say there is something about that S9II that feels amzing to me. I dunno if it's the shaft, the insert or what. But they have a nice high flight and are very forgiving. I can't speak about the AP1s or Burners. But I am getting more impressed each year with the products coming out by Cobra.

no man dont worry about it I will take all the help I can get. I probably wasnt clear enough I dont know my handicap but I know in a typical game of golf I will get about 2 or 3 birdies around and normaly more pars than bogies like 9to6 and or 10 to 5. The reason I get them are mostly because 2 or 3 putts and I am working on my putting.

yha so whatever you can get from that. Just from reading golf digest I like the burners burner pluses ap1s and king cobra sz.I have had my Big birtha x18s since 1999 and though I might want to look at some new irons.

ok so 9 pars 6 bogies and 2 birdies would put you at four over, 10 pars 5 bogies 2 birdies, puts you at 3 over. So your saying you shoot 3-5 over, yet don't know what a handicap is? If this is true, instead of the burners, try to taylormade tour preferred, they are very workable and i like them a lot. Hopefully you will too.

well, i will say this, you are doing better than me birdie-wise, and i carry a 5.1 handicap. if i averaged 3 birdies per round i would be VERY happy. in fact today, i didnt even have ONE.

I'm a 7 give or take and I am happy if I get one per round.

Sad isnt it.

I just play for fun man Like every one I have my bad days plus some of the courses That I play at are easy when compared to what you play at (I just go where I can). I am not really concerned with work ability right now I just try to keep a consistent draw and so far its worked. you are probably a better golfer than me

I have to admit I am a hot or cold golfer and the holes I usually birdie are pretty easy par three holes

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
