How many golfers use a different make or model from the PW to the LW? (i.e, use a Cleveland SW and a Titleist LW). Does on of your wedges spin too much and use less spin? Do they offer different bounce angles? love to hear your thoughts

up until recently i was using the Precept Forged CB 47º PW, Tour Edge Spin Milled 52º GW, a Sonartec T46 56º SW, and a Tour Edge Spin Milled 60º LW. 3 different manufacturers out of 4 clubs. but i recently dropped the 56º Sonartec SW because quite frankly, i wasnt using it that much. i would use the 60º LW instead. but now Im just using the Tour Edge Spin Milled wedges.....

There's a different feel that comes with each wedge. For example, forged vs. cast, Mizuno vs. TM vs. Vokey, etc. I would think you'd be better off with consistent set of wedges (maybe excluding your PW and possibly GW.) If you plan to hit those 2 clubs primarily from the fairway and not from around the green, then I would keep those consistent with your set if possible. That way, the distance gap is predictable. IMO the wedges that you use around the green should be "true wedges" (no cavity) and be the same make and model.

I use a Nike SV 53* and a Taylor Made TP 56* and the both perform nearly the same from fairway and around the greens. Taylor Made definately produces more spin on greenside pitches and chips though.

I was using different wedges until recently, switched to all Vokeys. Maybe it's mental, but having different wedges wasn't working for me.

I use different wedges simply for financial matters at this point. None of my wedges have legit grooves left, so when I update (soon), I will stay with the same type of wedges.

Also, I currently carry 4 wedges. I'm thinking about dropping down to 2, via Dave Pelz's advice that most golfers would benefit from having only 2 wedges they learn to play all the shots with rather than 4.

i do. Mizzy mp32 Pw, cally Xforged 50, and mp series 56-60.

The mizzys are the only ones used around the green, so as long as the sand and lob wedges are the same model/make, i am fine.

THe lob is 6 bounce, the sand is 14, so theres a pretty appreciable difference there for different lies.

My wedges are mixed. My 47*, 56* and 60* are Mizuno MP-Ts; whereas my 52* is a Mizuno MP-R.
The bounces are different too. The 47* is a 5, the 52* is a 6 and the 60* is a 7; whereas the 56* is a 12. The 56* has bounce that is better for sand, whereas the other wedges have bounce that works better on grass or a firm lie.
There really isnt any difference in spin from the MP-T to the MP-R. The only difference is the shape of the head.

I use 4 wedges, PW - 45, GW - 50, SW - 56 & LW - 60.
My PW and GW and mainly distance clubs, with my SW I use it mainly form 75yards and in. It gets the most use. I tend to only use my LW for green side bunkers and a real tight pin, that's it.
