I am looking for a nice 3 wood. I don't care for anything with a big sized head, but not too small as to be considered a hybrid.

I am looking at this 3 wood - http://www.titleist.com/golfclubs/fa...9F2.asp?bhcp=1

I need a 3 wood for closer shots on par 5's. All I have at the moment is a callaway mens big bertha heavenwood 2 iron hybrid.

Please tell me what you think of the titleist 3 wood in the link if you have one, and tell me others you think I should try.

Thank you! Have fun!

the current 3 wood you are looking at is an amazing club. I love mine and would reccomend it to anyone under a 9 handicap. You need to have good ball striking or else it wont benefit you.

well thanks man. i'll go with it then.

It plays very similar to the 906 series i use now, which im very happy with. Its a very good club if your swing is consistant. Great feel as well. Its adverstised to be a workable club, but i find it isnt easy to produce a draw with the deeper faced one that you plan to buy. I usually hit a slight cut with it. It will probably be easier to work the ball with the shallowed faced f3 model, if that what your game is. But again, the f3 will be harder to hit off of the deck.

yea i like clubs that i can hit off the deck. I just came back from the range and im trying a Henry Grifitts 15° deep 3 wood. it is hitting pretty good off the deck and the tee. im going to keep trying this and try a couple more before i make my decision.

Pretty off topic, but you seriously play of a +10 and the 2H is the next step from your driver? Wow, wonder what your scores will look like once you fill that little gap at the top...

I need to trade someone the 2H MP fli hi I have for a 3 wood; I'm no good with the 2H I have curently, it's just a bit too demanding for my ballstriking...

ya the titleist 909 line is a great set of clubs. youd be hard pressed to find anything that truely out preforms the 909s.

with that said, i have the taylormade burner 3 wood and i really like it. looks great at adress, easy to hit, and i get great distance. id just suggest going to your local golf store and taking a few swings with different clubs and see which one you like best.

thanks to everyone. i'll take everything into consideration. Lefty, my scores should lower a bit with a 3 wood rather than a 2H. I am getting a lot of positive feedback from the Titleist 909 series so i will go to the nearest golf store (Alfs) and try one out if they have it.

I play a Titleist 906f4 3 wood and love it, very easy to hit off the deck as well as the tee. I haven't hit the 909 series yet, but if its anything like the 906 series you won't regret it.

I have a 904F 4 wood and I go it for less than $30 and I couldn't be happier there are newer models and if money isn't a issue go wild but there is great equipment out there for rock bottom prices

Love the titleist fw's myself, the callaway ft is good too, as is the mizuno f60 and the sasquatch is popular so musn't be bad.
