i have one of those Spin Doctor wedges that i bought just to fool around with. when you put the Spin Insert in it, you can back a ball up 40 feet. the last time i took it to the course i hit a shot that bounced once on the green then it went down into the rough, and spinned back up onto the green! the guy who was standing near it said he could HEAR the ball spinning! it backed up UPHILL about 15-20 feet thru the rough back onto the green. it was hilarious!

I'm wondering if that is one of the wedges from commercials a while back... I used to, every now and then, see a commercial for a wedge and they had this crazy test to show how much backspin you could put on a ball. Basically, they had a guy hit a full shot off a mat in a concrete parking lot, the ball would come down and take a normal cartpath-like bounce high & forward, but then on the second bounce it would literally bounce back towards the guy who hit it! I always thought that was pretty awesome to watch, haha

im not sure if they're illegal though

I'm almost positive they are only illegal if they are the "two-way" kind. If it's consistent with the dexterity of the rest of the bag then it's cool...

In the bag:

the wedge drooves can only be a certain size if you ever watch the comercial for the chippers and spin doctor wedges they get so much spin because they have ridiculus grooves. there also illegal

Better than the hammer (h*ll, a putter is better) is this one:

Maltby Mr. Big 505.
505cc of fun driving.
Have one I got from GG for about $5, put a steel ('cause it's real) shaft in it.

actually works very well, even though the ball flight (13 deg loft) is very high.
pretty cool to see it go so very high. heck of an "over the trees driver"!Overall it goes as long as I can hit my regular drivers.

I just bought the spin doctor due to reading this. I cant wait to get it and trick my friend when i tell him I mastered the back spin. haha.

    • Day 21 - Good session with driver and 6i. Hitting real golf balls is quite a bit different from the foam balls, still getting used to that change.
    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
