Grip question

I am going to regrip all my clubs here once the local golf course opens up. I have a questions about the grips sizes though. My new Cobra Speed Ld F driver came with a golf pride tour velvet grip that says .600 50 D on the top of it. Is .600 referring to the shaft size and the 50 D being the grip size? This grip feels great and when i grip this club along with all others i have right now my right finger just slightly touches the base of my thumb. Does this mean the grip is too small? Should i go to a bigger grip or just talk to the pro at the course and see what he thinks. I was thinking maybe just having to build the grip up a bit more? I don't know... please help.

The .600 is definately the shaft diameter... I think the 50D represents the weight of the grip... ie 50 grams.

Yeah, I agree. M would designate midsize. Don't know what D means. If your index finger touching your thumb bothers you, I would go with a bigger grip. If not, then there's no need to change sizes.

Typically a smaller grip will promote more hand action and a draw/hook while a larger grip will reduce hand action and result in a fade/slice ball flight... Check out www.golfpride.com and the FAQ section... Good reference chart for grips and glove size... And yes, see your pro

It also has a lot to with swingweight as well.

it is my ring finger that touches the bottom of my thumb and no it doesn't bother me. When i do slice the ball it is all golfer's error it has nothing to do with the grip size.

      I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.

      So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands

      Original definition use to or still is how far offline you hit it. It might be better to think of it as consistency in retaining favorable launch conditions to optimize distance.   That heat map showed a gigantic 0-3% loss in ball speed. That is absurd. The true 100% sweet spot is tiny for all clubs. Good luck telling the difference if the sweet spot is under 3% in a sizable area. Especially considering variation in launch angle, spin, and outdoor weather.
