A full wedge shot is pretty difficult. I would try a more controlled PW until you get the full swing SW down.

How do you play this shot. I am having trouble. 100 and in(from the fairway) I play an SW. Problem is I am playing the shot like I play my PW, I pinch it against the turf and I continue to hit it fat. I asked my paying partner today and he told me make sure I hit ball first. I believe him but I think that I want confirmation. Any suggestions?

He's exactly right. Hit down on it. I look 2-4" in front of the ball, and just swing down on it nice and easy, and take a huge divot with my SW. Ball goes far, ball goes straight, ball lands soft, and no fat shots ever.

      I'm hearing this morning that Robert MacIntyre may be facing some sort of discipline (probably a stern warning) for the finger incident on 15 yesterday.  It dawns on me his upbringing would have been during Tiger's prime years -- he's 29 now, and would have been in elementary school in the early 21st century.  Someone should tell him that the swearing wasn't what made Tiger great at golf.   Or John Daly (or Don January?) or whoever else we associate with both being good at golf and producing choice words on television.
