Hello!

This sounds perfect, and I shall endevour to borrow my friends camera for this very sole purpose! It is a Sanyo Xacti HD1010, and does some cool 300 fps slow mo mode. But I have 2 questions....

1) Below are the modes the Sanyo claims to do... which would be most useful? I would imagine the 300fps would be (still seems quite good quality to me on my pc) even though it is a lower resolution? Or would a higher res at 60fps be better?

[Full-HD]: 1920 x 1080 (60 FPS *6 14 Mbps)
[Full-SHQ]: 1920 x 1080 (30 fps/12 Mbps)
[HD-HR]: 1280 x 720 (60 fps*6/12 Mbps)
[HD-SHQ]: 1280 x 720 (30 fps/9 Mbps)
[TV-HR]: 640 x 480 (60 fps/6 Mbps)
[TV-SHQ]: 640 x 480 (30 fps/3 Mbps)
[Web-SHR]: 448 x 336 (300 fps)
[Web-SHQ]: 320 x 240 (30 fps)

2) My second question is (and I apologise as I'm sure it's a little thick , and if it's not it's probably been asked before)...

"1. Facing camera with a driver" - As in to hit the ball towards the camera? With the chance of hitting it?? Just asking as I don't want to wreck my friends camera!

**EDIT** --> Ignore me, I've just worked it out! :D

By the way, cracking work and many thanks for the offer to analyse the swing!

Cheers all,
Luke

For swing analysis, the detail of HD is fine and 60 FPS is also fine. 300 FPS can be overkill, and the clarity gained by 720p video more than offsets the gains of 300 FPS over 60.

    • Stick a fork in his potatoes, he's done
    • Well, not a fairway, but not in trouble either.  That's a start.
    • https://thesandtrap.com/b/playing_tips/filming_your_swing It helps too if: we can see all of you (and at least most of the clubhead's travel) you trim away the stuff that isn't your swing From what I could see this topic might benefit you:
    • They're over-rated, yes, but I don't know that he can continue to drive it that well and have alleyways and so on through the trees.
    • Let's hope the 90th in driving accuracy and his sometimes loose iron shots (hooks, pushes) don't end up as his undoing too though. I doubt it happens, but that stat is a possible harbinger. His short game/putting has been somewhat unsustainable.  Just playing devil's advocate here. I agree on this course especially ending up in the 1st or 2nd cuts doesn't mean much. And when he's been in the pine straw he's been able to wedge his 3rd decently close and then make the putt.  But I find it unlikely he collapses given his driving is his strength and he's due to stripe them down the middle today. Just saying tho.
