Depending on course, perks/swag and what kind of crazy rules they may be playing by, the max would probably be around $100. I think the most I have ever actually paid is $75, but I got a free golf shirt, a gift certificate for a free round of golf on the course and free drinks (unlimited beer ) and food (just hamburgers).

same boat... I've paid $75, would maybe pay $100, but certain courses and circumstances could justify more... and maybe soon I'll have more money.

I hate scrambles....... HATE them! An absolute aberration of our game.

If I'm playing in a scramble to benefit a charity, it's because I've decided to make a charitable donation to a cause that I support, not because of the scramble. As such, the amount that I'm willing to donate to that particular charity is the determining factor, completely irrespective of the golf......such as it is.

if it's for a cause i believe in. cancer, homeless, food and shelters.. i'd give around $1000..... it's worth it..
have you ever seen the face of a truly grateful person?
sometimes when i leave the club on friday and saturday i'll meet up with folks to eat. whenever i have left overs, i'll roll by one of the parks in the city and give food to some of the homeless people...when they open a bag and see 1/2 of a turkey burger, fries, salad....even if it's a muffin.... their eyes light up...

i know the when you give to charity you're never truly thanked by those that benefit in return..but who needs that? it's for a good cause.

may i ask why? just curious....

You know, I don't know that I can really answer that. I tend to prefer individual sports more than team sports, so that might be part of it, but more than that, I just enjoy playing my own ball. I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction from a well played round of golf on my own ball, but none whatsoever from posting a 55 in a 4 man scramble even we win. Ugh....

$0.00 I will not pay to play in them. There is too much b/s and people cheat and they sell mulligans so someone can come in with a 52 or something. Around here the cost is usually about double the greens fees to play. I have a hard enough time finding the money and time to play, I'm sure not going to pay double when I could go to the same course the next day and play my own ball for less money.

That being said, my company donates to a few of the causes and will send me out to play. I can put up with the b/s if I am getting out of work to play golf and I didn't have to pay.

I love playing in scrambles, I just prefer it if I don't have to pay for it.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I've paid $90 for 1 1nce. It was the worst run charity event ever! It was strictly about getting your money and getting you the f*ck out of there. Never again in that one.
