In search of a 3 wood

I am in pursuit of a new 3 wood. I have been looking at Mizuno's MX-700 and a Tour Edge Exotics XCG. Any thoughts on these two or any other suggestions?

I have not tried, either one. However, I have read rave reviews about the Exotics 3W.

Have you looked at the new Nike Dymo 3W? I hit one, today and all I can say is "wow." If you like a club that's a little heavier and has a smaller head profile, I would recommend the 3W. The price was a little, who am I kidding, a lot out of my price range: $240.

I would imagine you are talking about the 09 Burner, but I just picked up an 07 Burner 3 wood from Dicks for $129.99 and you can print a $10.00 off coupon for anything over $50. So I got it for 119.99 + tax. Or you can hit Carlsgolfland.com and they have them for $119 with free shipping and if you're not in Michigan you save yourself the sales tax.

I love the Burner 3 wood so far. I had to retire my Titleist 980f and I am drilling this 3 wood. Very easy to hit both off the fairway and tee.

well, i just hit the MX-700 yesterday and freaking LOVED IT! WOW! incredibly hot face (just like the MX-700 driver i just bought), forgiving, and LONG. GREAT GREAT GREAT fairway wood. i would buy it but my Sonartec GS Tour 3 wood is freaking awesome too

also, a guy i play with uses the new R9 3 wood. that thing is awesome too. he says its the best 3 wood he's ever hit (he is a 2 handicap)

I am partial to the 3 metal in my bag. Especially like the longer shaft when I use it as my driver alternative. But after having bought the Mizuno MX-700 hybrid, if I were to go out and but a 3 wood now, I would be giving the Miz 3 wood a big look.

I just bought the titleist hybrids and struck them s well that i dont even need a 3 wood.. i hit the 17* hybrid consistently 250, every time i struck it i was like whats the need to carry a 3 wood.

I have heard good things about the exotics fairway woods, not hit them myself. I have the tour edge bazooka geomax which is pretty good. It does have a larger head than some other fairway woods though (that puts some people off).

I was using the Cobra LD F Speed 3 wood for a short time. I ended up returning it only because of the ball flight I was getting was like the Saint Louis Arch. I never tried hitting it from the fairway, so I wanted a different flight. I am thinking of giving it another try... Now that I got my driver working great, I can use such a second shot for getting on the green.

They have a pretty nice feel to them, have a mid-high launch and get pretty good distance too although I wouldn't say they really bombed. For the price you can pick them up for on ebay you can't go wrong really. I paid £36 ($51). It also has a 1* open face which I like (I have had problems with hooking 3 woods in the past)

that sounds great! (the 1º open face) because i have a tendency to hook 3 woods too. i just bought one one ebay, brand new, for $36 plus $12 shipping ($48). i'll test it out against my Sonartec GS Tour 3 wood and my Mizuno F-60 4 wood once it gets here later this week.

Ever hit the 906F4? I'm between the F4 and TM Burner. I have the driver '07, and I love it. Granted, I still have lot's of work to do on my swing, but of the deck the F2 was great...F4 should be better.

... 3 3-woods in a little over a month. I just pounded my Sonartec 250+ way uphill... missed my eagle, but this 3-wood is great, both off the deck and off the tee. I don't think I'll even look at another for a few years. I am somewhat intrigued by the Tour Edges... only because I have heard they are sooo long.

the 1st swing you will feel like the ball was vaporized... its not, its just 240 down the middle in the blink of an eye. great stock Fuji Bonzai shaft too. i got the stiff.
