I am going in May to Galway for an wedding. I was hoping for a suggestion from someone that has played a nice course in or very close to Galway.

We are bringing our two little ones so I can't venture too far...

thanks

None Ireland's truly great courses are in Galway. Invest an entire morning or afternoon and make the drive to Connemara or Lahinch

connemara has beautifuil countryside, so i imagine the courses should be amazing. Connemara golf club should be perfect if you go. They have 27 holes, so you can even play it twice.

I drove past Lahinch... its now on my "must play" list... that course looks awesome.

the wedding party is setting up a golf outing and we are going to play at Connemara, and through looking around I found Lahinch and will be playing there super early on my birthday...

good to see these were the two courses you recommended! thanks for the feedback!

i'm gonna get crushed at these courses, i didn't play much at all last year and not much this year...one of the negatives of parenthood

You should write the courses you hope to play, with aproximate date/times. If you show up with clubs in hand - with no prior proper introduction (via. a letter) - you'll have very little chance to play anywhere.

driver: FT-i tlcg 9.5˚ (Matrix Ozik XCONN Stiff)
4 wood: G10 (ProLaunch Red FW stiff)
3 -PW: :Titleist: 695 mb (Rifle flighted 6.0)
wedges:, 52˚, 56˚, 60˚
putter: Studio Select Newport 1.5

Unfortunately you are unlikely to be playing at 6 or 7 am. My recollection is that the first tee time at Lahinch is usually around 7:30. I belong to a nearby club (Doonbeg) and my club has been able to arrange for me and a friend to go off 10 or 15 minutes earlier.

Lahinch also typically caters to their members first so the earlier you contact them the better.

Slainte!

Does the NE in your Location line mean Nebraska (or NorthEast)?

The reason I ask is - in Mullen, Nebraska in the most AMAZING links style course - the Sand Hills -that could be set anywhere in the UK - and rival anything you'll ever play.

Here's a link to a nice review of the course
