Ok you got me there! Monterey is really pretty cool for golf! It is a bit expensive (but what in Cali isn't?) and they lack a selection of executive/municipal courses. I play Black Horse / Bayonet a LOT!

I didn't even notice you are from Monterey when I posted haha. I'm jealous.

Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have all four seasons but you can play golf during all of them. Winters are mild, you can play in pants and a pullover just about every morning. In the summer it never gets too hot like in AZ (we have only hit 100 degrees once in the past 4 years) low humidity and very good reasonably priced golf.

Add that to the fact we have the #1 housing market in the country right now and have been affected very little by the current recession. Its a great place to be.

    • Day 51 (yesterday was 50, not 59 -- that was a typo).  I didn't have a ton of time today.  I hit a dozen balls with a 6-iron in my practice room.   Amazingly, after this I did the ShotScope analysis of yesterday's round;  my approach play was at the 5 hcp level.  That's pretty darn good, but unfortunately for my score, some of that came from hitting a few good recovery shots.  But I also hit some really good approach shots that weren't from trouble!

    • Day 295 6-26 Low point control with towel again. Getting better but not swinging fast enough tonight.
    • Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.
    • I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.
