Driving over doglegs?

Does anyone here make the attempt to cut doglegs? I am playing in a local tournament in 3 days and see 2 doglegs on the course where there is no hazard danger if i try. The tree height is unknown as of yet. The carry from google is 230 on one and 240 on other for trees which would probably make it a high launch 260 to be totally clear of the trees and one bunker,

How can you possibly record an individual score in a scramble??? The nature of a scramble is that there are no individual scores. You always pick up the balls and move them to the location of the ball selected as the one you want to play. Where would you ever get an individual score within that context?

How is that not a best ball? A scramble doesn't use anyone's individual score. There's one score for the hole.

this scramble uses the best score of the 4some,,,its not a best ball

If you all play your own ball as it lies from tee to hole then it you ARE playing a best ball. A Best Ball format is when all players play their own balls down, then take the lowest score (or more often in a four man team the lowest 2 scores) for the team score.

A Scramble is where all players hit, then choose the location of the best shot for all players to play the next shot from. The best ball format is recognized as an acceptable form of play by the Rules of Golf. A scramble is not. In a scramble no individual scores are even possible, only one team score.

      I was wondering this and haven't seen it on today's broadcast OR yesterday's, but apparently Cabrera did show up.  He currently has the third highest score for the week and is playing his last hole of this year's event.  I'm not particularly keen to see him, but I was wondering if he was present, and he seems to be.

      Hatton hit 18 GIR.  That's incredible.   Rory's tee shot on #8 reminds me of a TV show, Get Smart, that I enjoyed watching as a kid.  The protagonist would often say "missed me by that much."  Rory missed avoiding the bunker by that much.

      Day 556 - 2026-04-10 Played another 17 holes, this time skipping #11 to pass a group that was still on 14 when we were finishing up. 😛 Not as good as yesterday, but more distracted by the mind's eye.
