Yeah, that's why I didn't just put it up. I know that many little eyes view this forum and I don't want to be responsible for their corruption.

I feel the same as most about Brenda...her act was wearing thin for me, although in GolfGal's interview she does appoligize for coming off as mean to Blair. As far as Blair's attire I noticed something. A couple of weeks ago she started the day in a skirt and did poorly in the challenges...we are all a little superstious sometimes. Anyhow she would look good to me in a burlap sack :>)

Finally some decent weather! I think a lot of the so so play on this show has been abetted buy som awfull conditions. With better conditions we finally saw some consitently good play.

As for who wins...if Derek can stay straight off the tee I think he will be too much for Blair. Remember, when this show was taped she had not played much competitive golf in a while. I'll be rooting for her but I think Derek wins.

and, if you watch the little animation with the silhouettes in the opening, and pause it, youll see that it takes them away in the order they were eliminated, and shows Derek as the last one left. Kinda telltale if you ask me.

That's an interesting angle. I've never slowed it down to check that out. If true, I'm baffled they did it in exact order, after taking so many steps including million dollar lawsuit threats to protect the result from leaking.

Golf Gal, Thanks for all the help! I thought we were pals?

Apoc G 10, I never really noticed that in the beginning of the show. Has it been that way all season? I wonder if the past shows gave away those clues as well?

Well, to all the rest, I suppose that if you were looking at my past predictions it would be safe to say that whom ever I choose to win this thing, you should bet against me and you may win. My pick this week for top gun.....Derek

Act is a proper term. Apologies don't carry much weight in a case like this. Those unnecessary mean spirited comments will be what I remember about Brenda. I had a sense she was restraining that type of attitude throughout, with a little bit of help from the editors. A high percentage of her comments the entire show were a negative dig toward the others, from the standard, "What are you doying?" to rolled eyes, "Into the tree?" when Caroline said she hit a circle challenge pitch shot exactly as she wanted. It was the opposite of Brian, who praised the others.

Last night, in the confessional once she was eliminated, Brenda lost the subtle necessity and focused on petty issues like marking the short putt. Frankly, I'm glad Big Break used those comments, particularly the cruel cardboard remark. It probably stunned and hurt Blair last night when she watched the show, but Brenda needs to be accurately portrayed. Nothing stings like a bad final impression. Last night was particularly disgusting since Big Breaks generally calm down once the final handful of players are revealed. They gain respect for each other and keep an eye on the prize. Personal attacks and fireworks are reserved for the middle of the series. So Brenda broke new ground. Or recent ground. I didn't watch the early Big Breaks other than an occasional episode but I remember the Danielle/Pam tension. If Golf Channel had provided the full several minute nightly individual confessionals each week on its website, as it did in previous versions, I guarantee we'd have a more accurate impression of personalities, cliques and bothers. As is, it's obvious the producers tried to minimize if not cover up the brewing unease with Blair, evidenced when Derek, Gerina and Brenda forgot to clap when Blair drained the 50 footer versus Aaron.

getting through a few weeks is lucky, getting to the final 3 takes skill, and brenda has lots of skill. She just had a bad day :shrug

I don't agree that Brenda was one of the top 5 players. Derek, Gerina and Eugene are clearly superior, via scoring averages and results. Aaron made it to the second stage of PGA Q School last year. Blair's scoring average, this year on the Cactus Tour (75.2) and when she played on the Duramed Futures Tour are a stroke or two superior to Brenda, who plays full seasons and makes only a handful of cuts:

http://www.duramedfuturestour.com/Pl...NealBlair.html http://www.duramedfuturestour.com/Pl...nonBrenda.html The +3 for 9 holes is roughly Brenda's level. She is a good putter and a better player than Nicole, but over 18 holes or more I'm not sure she'd handle Football, Kim or even Robert, to name the earliest eliminated. Caroline is several shots better, based on Duramed results. http://www.duramedfuturestour.com/Pl...nCaroline.html Derek may be the best player now but he is into his 30s and not on tour. Gerina is only 24, and the one player from this group with big league potential, particularly since she has the trump card edge in driving distance. Gerina's scoring average was a respectable 72.6 last year and slightly over 73 this season, after a slow start. Like other Golf Channel alumnae Camila Mori and Kim Welch, Gerina has not been making the most of her best events this year. That tour rewards for a top 5 or 6 finish, otherwise the money is bunched to the bottom. You don't gain much with 10th place as opposed to 50th. All three of those players have missed DFT tournaments and lag much further on the money list than their scoring averages should allow: Gerina: 18th scoring average, 48th money list Camila: 24th scoring average, 85th money list Kim: 28th scoring average, 46th money list

Thanks for those stat links, Awsi... very revealing.

With a record like Brenda's I have to wonder if she should just quit. What is she doing for $$?

I'm not sure what has been going on between Blair and the other players the last few weeks though. Seems to be some kind of undercurrent of animosity that I just can't figure out, although last nite she and Derek were going back and forth a little..."pretty good Derek...pretty good Blair...just trying to keep up with you Derek" Maybe some of the problem is that Blair really seems to clam up when the pressure is on and she comes off as being cold. I don't believe she is always that way or she wouldn't be making Play Golf Designs appearances.

Thanks Awsi, that pretty much affirms what I had thought. Based on two shows I quickly surmised that this format would lead to upsets. I believe Derek even mentioned that Football was an upset on golfgal's blog.

My rankings of ability remain unchanged. Derek, Aaron, Eugene, Football, Gerina (best odds of making the big leagues), Blair, Brian, Caroline, Kim, Brenda, Nicole, Robert

I haven't really heard the guys talking crap about her. The obvious reason would be because, well, she's very attractive. However, I tend to believe it's because girls tend to be a bit more catty and mean to each other... especially to girls they perceive to be prettier and/or more talented.

Could it be as simple as jealousy coming from Brenda? Maybe Blair's a great person and Brenda is just a tad jealous. Who knows.

Just listened to GolfGal's interview with Blair...very interesting. Found out that they finished off the competition the same day as the play that aired on last nites show!

And before I forget I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Gayle for all of her great interviews. They really added a lot to my enjoyment of watching and following this year's show.

Don't they shoot that before the show begins? If not, and if that's how things worked out, that's really, really lame.

Oh c'mon, you're assuming they don't know how to use Google? Look, nobody under 14 can register here and, well, in that Supreme Court ruling thing I don't think these count as porn at all. Don't look if you don't want to.

There. Still not terribly attractive to me - personality's a big part of that and she's not displayed much to me. Kind of like smoking - I don't care how how hot someone is, the instant I find out that they smoke or I see them smoking, I'm done. They go from a 10 to a 0 in one puff. Incidentally, I missed last night's episode. I'll have to see if it recorded. I'm sure it has in one of the 4700 showings Golf Channel has in a given week.

oh, and I do think Blair is pretty, but she's far from hot. I prefer my women, much like my fiance, with a little bit of muscle on them, not stick thin. Blair is so skinny that its unnatractive. Though her legs are quite nice.

But like I said, I prefer a woman who weight trains, and has nice, feminine muscles, and a round, hard butt. I'd much rather wake up to someone with an athletic body, like my soon to be wife.

I know I'm partly responsible, but let's keep this reasonably on topic, c'mon now...

Its pretty bad how some of the women have handled themselves after losing - its really inexcusable, and shows flaws in their character that are easy to hide when things are going well. I don't remember the backgrounds of the offenders, but I wonder if they were never exposed to team sports growing up, where being a good winner and a good loser is taught, and enforced largely through peer pressure. While I love sports, and if I have kids would love to watch them play, even if I didn't I'd still enroll them in some youth sports just to learn these lessons of winning and losing.

Its also awesome how homely women often attack the personality of beautiful women.

    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
