I played with them yesterday!

My group shot 1 over par and we had 2(20 HC) long ball hitters me and and another 2 guys who were 25HC but we seemed to be clutch when we need to. The tough part was this course, its a little long we were back to the tips, the greens were impossible to stick. I hit a towering 60* (par3)110 out and it landed in the middle of the green and it bounced 10 feet in the air! 10FEET! then rolled to the collar. ALSO. 16 of the greens had been aerated and they didnt brush enough sand into the plugs before the grass regrew. What it looked like was a corrugated green with tiny ridges and valleys(plugs) across the entire green. ALSO .The greens speed was THE SLOWEST i have EVER played, i had to putt very firm to get it to the cup and the ridges would make the ball hop an inch in the air! It was a really tough course not on a slope/rating scale but condition.

The winning 4some posted a 50! Awesome huh? a 50! I went looking all over the clubhouse to get Tiger and Phils autograph but couldnt find them anywhere. I just wish I knew the other 2 in their group.

The education level of the field seems to have a direct correlation to the scores posted during scrambles. The better educated play worse and the redneck, ghetto, white trash crowd seem to score like gods. Yesterday was a charity event for little league baseball, so naturally the yocals went golfin'.

My last event involved a private school and the fastest greens with sloped cup placements (tough) It was me a 10HC and a woman 10HC and we scored a 1 under. The winning 4some posted a believable 62.(-10)Remember this field was a field of true golfers.

The fairest scramble scores are posted when 2 teams play together and count each others shots.

Ain't it a bitch getting pencil whipped?

I agree that the beer drinking rednecks* seem to score the best when nobody's watching!

*No offense to the beer drinking rednecks who may be reading this.

I have 3 buddies who I play with every year in a scramble to benefit high school and middle school athletics. We have won it for the last 10 years in a row. The combined handicap of our team is 5. Our record lowest score was 51 (-21), that year we birdied every hole except for the 3 we eagled. We probably average around -17.

We don't win anything but a trophy each year but its fun just to get out with my friends and have some fun. Plus each year more and more of our opponents try and stack their teams in order to finally beat us so its a challenge to stay on top.

The 50 you spoke of is nearly impossible, the year we shot -21 we made some stupid shots, holed out from the fairway, and drained like 4 putts over 50 feet.

50 Isnt Impossible. I saw it happen with me own eyes! JK

I bet even your crack squad would struggle on this course due to its green conditions. I give you a 14-16 under.

I had fun and we knew going in that some 4some of jerks would post a 52 0r 53 we just didnt expect a 50 on a par 70 course.

I get invited to play in a lot of charity scrambles. The all time lowest we have done was -23, but we were all scratch or better. Most of the time we range between -16 to -21, depending on how well we putt. To shoot that low, there must have been a lot of mulligans, or someone was hitting it close every time. Played in a two day, three man scramble a few years ago, We shot -40. That is my best two day total. We were green high on more than one par 4.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

    • Day 54. Was in a good place last week. Yesterday’s round killed my confidence.  Full swing practice trying to get back to where I was but struggled with being tired and tense. Back to basics tomorrow.
    • Welcome back! Evolvr.com? I don't use the full extreme end of it, and that's probably dipped to 75% or so nowadays. But I use the sole more than I don't, yeah. Also… it's good to learn this shot: Middle up. Not generally outside your feet in either direction. I generally have it slightly forward of center, yeah. Short version: tip your upper body in the direction of the slope. Look at the GC3. You can find them for really good prices sometimes.
    • 3 rainouts in a row….that’s SAD Sorry, I’m in MI or I would take you up on a round.
    • Day 3:  I tried to hit a bucket at the range but an 80 year old man (he told me his age, showed me his knee replacement scars, told me all about his chronic low back pain, etc) couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mansplain to me every little thing I’m doing wrong.  Dude, it’s my third frickin day.  I know I need to twist my hips more, I know I need to keep my head/chest down and not pop up, I know I need to hit through the ball and follow through further, yada yada yada.  I know.  That’s exactly what I’m trying to work on.  How about you tell me or show me how to do those things instead of telling me to watch Iron Byron videos?  Rough day.
    • Day 132: 5/7/24 Full Speed Spectrum Training session 8/24. 7th training program overall.    Another slow session but 4 mph faster than my last session, which was my slowest ever. Going to the doctor on Friday to check on pulled neck muscle.
