So my dad and I have made the 3 hour trek twice in the past like 10 years to go play an amazing resort/casino golf course up northeast of phoenix. We haven't gone in about 4 years and I forgot how long it is. Check out the tips. A 661 yard par 5. I will say though, it is high desert and with the altitude the ball definetly flies further.

Course near me has the longest golf hole in the US (per Guiness Book of World Records), par 6, 841 yards. Really can't stand the course, very gimmicky. Farmer decided to develope a golf course with 27 holes. Reminds me of a putt-putt course. Has everything this side of a Windmill and Clown hole...

Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to...

the worst part is that first hole has the largest elevation gain on the course. It is straight uphill but is quite wide and very simple (straight, 1 bunker IIRC) A true grip it and rip it hole.

A 661 yard par 5.

I'm sure there are a few here that could reach that in 2

  • 3 weeks later...
There are a few courses on the RTJ trail that are over 8,000 yards total. So, either one or both of the nines would have to be longer than the original course posted. Plus, the original course only has one Par 3 on the front which can skew the yardages longer of course.

In my bag:

3 Wood: Diablo 13 degree, Stiff Shaft
2 Hybrid: SQ 18 degree, Steel Stiff ShaftIrons: MP-30, 3-PWSW: 56* Vokey Copper spin-milledFW 52* VokeyFlat Stick Zing 2Ball: Pro V1x

International "Pines" Course. 4188 yards for a par of 37. 674 yard par 5. 715 yard par 6.

Back nine is longer and a par 36. 270 yard par 3.

Played from the "Tiger" tees.

They should have a U.S. Open there. (80.0/154). I think it's the second toughest course in America. I can't believe it isn't #1.

Each 9 is over 4000 yards from the tips. There is another course on the RTJ trail (The Shoals) that is over 8000 yards. Don't think I'll ever be playing from the tips at either place. When the shortest par 4 on the course is 454 yards, you know it's for big hitters only.

What I play:

Driver: XLS Hibore 9.5* Fit-On Red (S)
Woods: Tour XPC 16* Graffaloy ProLite (S)
Hybrid: Exotics 3HIrons: Reid Lockhart 3-SWWedge: rac 60*Putter: a crappy $20 Academy putter (but it works!)

Isn't that completely absurd? I can understand Colorado where the air is super thin, but 454 yards being the shortest par 4? I honestly think that could turn people off from even going there, it just seems like carnival golf.

Well, they also have tees at 6200, 6700, and 7300, so it's not as if there aren't options out there for the rest of us. But seriously, I couldn't realistically play that course as a par 72 from the tips. More like a par 82 for me

    • But he won at -18 !!! Are you going to complain that it was too easy and boring to watch like you do for the PGA Tour?
    • He’s also the best anchoring putter there is!😏
    • And  he  has had alot  of  health issues as you expect  from someone still playing at  67
    • Good read (pun intended) as I have been using my feet more to feel the break and trusting these 65yr eyes less.  The only caveat to my case is that most rounds I wear a carbon graphite brace that runs the length of my left foot (replicates the toe "lift" sensation while walking by putting pressure on the rear of the left calf muscle and makes a great conversation piece to the guys I play with), and I tend to find the weight sensation somewhat muted on that foot when I wear it.  I do occasionally play without it and the left foot read gives a better transmission of info.  However not matter which way I'm playing that day (brace/no brace), pacing off the distance and coming back about 1/2 way and getting a foot read has really helped me determine the break, the startline and oveall pace.  Using my feet has definitely improved my confidence in terms of putting.
    • To still be winning tournaments at 67 is quite incredible. He must also be the youngest person to have shot his age or better by however many times he's done it. Amazing.
