Maybe I used a poor choice of words in explaining this and got some people confused.

No, it seems to be just me.

Actually after talking with the guy on the phone, he told me that he will make me a "checklist" on things to practice and work on. But I will also use your suggestion too...that is a very good idea!

Indeed, that's a good thing. Mine provided a video re-cap of the lesson, but I still took a notebook and wrote everything down immediately afterwards: what he wanted to see, what drill I was using to check it, etc.

Very cool. Only other bit of advice I might have is that you tell the guy you're committing to x lessons so he knows how long he has to work with you. Hopefully x > 1. Let us know how your lesson goes, and good luck in your scramble.

He does video and I am not sure yet if I will get a copy of that or not. I really hope I do. I have already committed to 3 lessons and told him that I wanted to work with him throughout the year to reach my goal. It will definitely be more than 1!

I will post results in my "mid-handicapper to low-handicapper" thread. It now looks like the weather will probably cancel the scramble too....Thanks for the help and sorry about the confusion.

Well, we finished the scramble with a kind of disappointing -9. It was pouring down rain all day so I guess it wasn't that bad. The good news is we were -6 on the par 5s. I stuck a 3W from 245 and 260 and both were about 8ft to the pin. We made both of those putts. I really played well but the wind and rain were really killing my distance. My irons were all right as well...not off the green right, but probably 5-10 yards of where I was aiming. I usually hit a little draw with my irons but today they were all going dead straight. My putting felt better than it actually was. My speed was dead on but it seemed like my putts would not break the same as my partners'....it was weird. I think it was because I hit my putts a little more aggressively. Anyway, it was fun....even though we got SOAKED!!
