Hmm, I was hitting some bombs with it. It's definitely longer than my original Sumo2.

I just used it twice this week during a range session and did not like it at all. The driver sort of feels dead to me. Not sure how to describe it. Also, the ball flight is a little high to my liking. I used teh 9.5* and UST V2 shaft.

I have the 8.5* with the V2 shaft. Feels great to me, although the bond between a man and his driver is sure as hell a mysterious one.

I won't be buying another one. The bottom of mine is crumpling in and has started to crack. It also feels kinda dull when I hit with it. My Taylormade 3 wood goes as far, and balls seem to almost fly off the face of it, but the Sumo just seems like muscling it is the only way to hit it far. Also hits WAY high (like 150'), but that's probably just the stock shaft.

Mines a 9.5 with stock stiff flex.

And don't believe the hype about it being super straight. Maybe on tiny mishits, but you can still slice or hook the heck out of it.

Agreed with your sentiments. I'd say steer away from this driver! Buy my T-made Tour Burner!

I have a Taylormade r7 460 and the Nike SQ 5900 and the r7 is better hands down. The SQ is shorter and I slice it (I don't slice with my r7). I will be selling my SQ after a few rounds of use shortly and going with a TM Burner probably. I also hit my TM 3 wood just as far, if not further than the 5900.

Been gaming one now for 3 weeks.

I've got zero complaints.

The thing sets up nicely behind the ball....and swings like a breeze. Even smooth and easy swings get the ball up nicely for loads of carry.

I'd say that distance is on par with the G10 I replaced with this stick.

It took about five or six rounds with it to reach the point where the impact sound doesn't register.....it didn't sound bad at first....just different from my last driver. It sounds like tons of carry now.

been gaming a 5900 for a little while now. 8.5° with V2 stock Stiff.

about the same distance as any other driver I've had. been using it because I thought it was THE straightest driver out there....uhhh, not true. like another poster said, you can still slice the sh!t out of it. it's been working lately but nothing is forgiving for a bad swing.

if you do go with it, go 1° less than you usually do. it launches high.

good luck!

It does launch pretty damn high. I actually have the same setup on my 5900 as you, and that seems to be working perfectly. Although you

can still slice the ball pretty badly, it's not very hard to correct that slice to maybe a slight fade with this driver.

I got one over the weekend and tried it out yesterday. It's pretty decent. Launches high but is pretty straight. It takes some getting used to... but it's pretty darn good. The one thing which puts me off is the sharp "thwang" noise it makes which can scare your co-golfers, birds and wild animals away :)

    • Day 445 - 2025-12-19 Hit some balls at AMGC today before getting on a flight and driving back to home through some not-so-awesome weather. The backswing is starting to feel pretty good. I have to clean up the knees a little.

    • I unknowingly ordered what would sort of be considered a staff bag. It is the 14 divider version of the Titleist staff bag and was stated on the website to be a staff bag "light" (Titleist Tour Premium Cart Stadry), but it is pretty big. Love it though.

Mind you, he did not recommend specific club but rather to what consider and how to plan.  What a great day for course management education at the next level.
