i recently went to a Roger Dunn's golf shop and found out i should be a 1/2 inch smaller from standard length. i currently play standard length with all my clubs and i'm roughly a 15 handicap (took a long break from golf, but shot a +13 yesterday ). but my question is should i stay with the standard height or try and get the shorter height? also i know that cutting shafts can effect the swing weight of the club does anyone have a recommendation of where to switch out my shafts?

Usually the distance from your knuckles to the floor while standing dictates the shaft length. Physical builds are different for everyone with shorter torsos, longer arms, longer legs and the amount of bend from the hips at address. So a lot of things to look at. I am not familiar with Roger Dunn, but a good fitting is worth the price. Though I am 6 foot I still use a +1/2" because my body porportion and arm length. It made a huge difference in my game.

There is no subsitute for a professional fitting.

Check the below website and look for someone in your area. Should have taken this advice myself years ago.
