Hey guy's

I played my first round of the year two weeks ago, and my driving was terrible. I kept hooking the ball with my driver, my iron play was not to bad. I usually shoot around 85-90 on par 72 courses sometimes higher on bad days . Ive been playing golf for about 6 years but usually only play 15-20 rounds a year, I only have 1 playing partner and he can't always play, I love golf so, this summer I'm going to try and get out and play more which means going to the course as a single.

For the last 6 years I've been using the baseball grip. Today I went to the range, wanting to practice my driving with some iron work. Instead of the baseball grip today I used the interlock grip, tried the vardon also but didn't like the feel. I hit some good drives along with good irons but take 10 shots maybe 6 were good ones. My driver had long distance but a huge slice. My irons were straight most of the time, but I had the odd ball that would go 15 feet, or sometimes they would leak right, I was taking nice divots with the shots the ones I didn't I would skull.

Here two videos of my swing hopefully you guys can give me a few pointers.

Thanks for any help

You are playing the "invisible ball" way to far back in the stance. That could lead to slices and weak pushes. Looks like pretty good posture, may could use a little more bend in the knees? Maybe a little more shoulder tilt with the driver? Also keep your hands out in front.

Agreed with the above post. hands out in front and the ball should be just before your left shoulder, about where an emblem would be on a golf shirt. Also you do seem to be bent over a tad more than needed.

ok heres my opinion

1.your coming over the top, straitin back up a lil move hands a little more to the ball about 2 inches

2.hitting down on ball with driver-move about 2 balls foward in stance

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
