Hello,

I'm a novice club builder but I've never messed with lie/loft on a putter. I want to build myself a Snake Eyes Tour Platinum 7802 or 7803 and I'm wondering what I need to learn in order to build the best putter for me.

I'm tall 6'2 or 6'3 and I like to have a heavy putter. In the past I have used a heavy putter shaft when I build something. How do I determine what I need and how do I adjust something like this on a putter?

Does this make a HUGE difference?? Sorry for the beginner questions but I would really appreciate some help. Thanks.

I wasn't aware of different lofts/lies (at least not as the norm) in putters. The biggest thing has always been the shaft length, which would (should) help to get the right lie angle. Then again I may be missing something.

Yep, you should be fitted to your putter as much as (or perhaps even more than) you're fitted to your driver. After all, you hit more putts than drives (though, on the other hand, drives have the potential to go OB, which probably doesn't happen on too many putts.

).

But what do they do to fit you? Is it a different kind of lie board to measure your stroke?

They take set you up with various putters of various lengths and lies and see which fits you best, then they measure the appropriate amount of loft for you by using high-speed video and/or other computer fitting routines.
