Do you use just old shag balls when your pracitcing putting? Or would it be wise to use the balls i would play a round with?

Posted
I practice putting with the balls I play with. I want the same feel as I will get on the course.

Definitely use the same ball you use on your rounds. It's not like you'll lose them or wear them out while putting.

The only time I use random balls are when I'm practice ball striking. For all my short game practice, I use the ball I play in my rounds so I know how it reacts.

Ditto what ^^^^^^ he said.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I always believe to use the same balls your going to be playing with on the course.

I have a zip lock bag of about 50 balls that I practice putting with and they are not what I play with. I have a mixture of Top Flight and Titleist, it does not really matter especially if you need lots of balls to practice with.
